Supporting and promoting the underground sound was always our primary mission, so it was only natural we would undertake actions to extend this vision. Having over 20 artists on the roster and a bit of experience in publishing music has given rise to another massive compilation. This next drop sees us invite the artists we represent to the forefront and what they deliver is a true rampage of new wave & old school dubstep, halftime dnb, techno and beats impossible to pigeonhole.

‘Volume 2’ is a supreme showcase filled with top quality creations from the established faces such as Encrypted Audio bossman Content, Basskruit label owner Hebbe, Bulgarian musician, painter and part of TRIGAIDA folktronica trio Ivan Shopov (aka Balkansky aka CooH), Welsh-based prodigies LSN, Markee Ledge of Kosheen as well as bringing through relatively new talent like Romania’s Alienmade, Parisian Argo, Malta-based Volume A or German duo Roklem & Sebalo. There’s Breakfake leaning towards a more melodic instrumental notion and haunting bass of Rakjay’s ‘Tetanus’ in contrast. We also have White Peach Records proteges - 207, Ourman & Taiko delivering absolute dynamite, and legendary MC Toast putting his unique vocal signature on the collaboration with Foto Sound head honcho Unkey. This extensive project brings together the very best of what’s happening in 140 and beyond. With ‘Savage Land’ by The Untouchables, undeniable specialists in dark & tribal sounds, the release takes us down a dnb-centred route, not forgetting Kwizma’s non-dubstep contribution here. "Hello, my friends. It’s a big honor for me to release this EP on YUKU because I sincerely love lots of releases of this label and follow them practically since the day they started. I’ve created 5 tracks specially for this release.

They turned out to be very diverse, quite different, but at the same time cohesive.
5 tracks — like 5 variations and 5 stairs of my life. The cover by my friend, Kyiv-based artist Bohdan Burenko, perfectly outlines the mood of this EP. It shows 5 faces, 5 characters, and 5 stories.

I should mention that some demos for these tracks I wrote back in 2018, when I lived in California. And the basis for ‘The Wall’ I wrote in the suburbs of Los Angeles in a small town Walnut. This explains the song title. Back then, I listened to a lot of old-school Metalheadz tracks, and I guess this music had a big impact on the atmosphere of this track. Same story with ‘Runnin’ Out’ - I made the demo in US, then finished it when I was preparing the release for YUKU. ‘Offset Range1’ is my personal favorite. I wrote it in Kyiv, when I had Covid and
was tweaking knobs on my sampler and automation on my synth. 99’ is my nostalgia for good ol’ breakbeat and ‘Vezhlivy Otkaz’ has the most unusual drop I have ever written. Of course, it’s an honor for me to have a remix by Tim Reaper on board, because I’m his fan.

I’m writing this text now in Kyiv. Because of Russian invasion, I’m not sure what my future will be like, but I don’t see any reason to postpone this release. All the profit from this EP I’d like to send for the charity & restoration of the infrastructure of Ukraine.

We close out this roster with an audiophile, an explorer of the universe of sound, and an eager researcher of the relationships between music and people. A.Fruit’s music reflects her inner world and emotional interactions with the outer world.

Anna Fruit was born in 1989 in Moscow, which was still USSR at the time. Her passion for music began in childhood at school, she played the guitar and sang her songs to friends. In 2008, while studying sociology at Moscow State University, she discovered Ableton Live, and it changed her life. She started making music and decided to get a second education as a sound engineer to improve her craft. In 2012 Anna graduated from the University and simultaneously completed her certificate in audio engineering. Then, for some years she worked as a sound technician on TV channels, in parallel continuing to produce electronic music. 

A.Fruit found her 160 bpm-focused sound somewhere between her longtime love of DnB, jungle, hip-hop, and especially footwork. Her professional music career began in 2015, fast forward to 2023 and she has built an impressive discography with 8 EPs and a multitude of original tracks and remixes on compilations worldwide. Her music has appeared on labels including YUKU, Cosmic Bridge, Med School, Teklife, Rua Sound, Sequel One Records, Black Marble Collective, and plenty more. On tours, Anna delivers a blend of 160-170 bpm from footwork and jungle to future beats and halftime.
Outside of her music, A.Fruit creates sound effects and music of other genres for PC games (Gremlins, Inc., Spire of Sorcery, Pathfinder) and provides digital mastering in her home studio.
