 It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to play at the 20th Anniversary of Shambhala Music Festival in the amazing Fractal Forest this year. Big thanks to Rich Rich and the rest of the Fractal team for putting on the best show on earth and welcoming me into the family with open arms. The set I played was by far the best time I’ve ever had on stage and feel incredibly lucky to have shared that moment with all the amazing people at Shambhala.

I’ve been getting an overwhelming response from all you shambhalovelies since then and a lot of people have asking me to upload my set…so I've put the entire 90 minutes up here for you to get wobbly to. Enjoy!

This is the set I played at Es Vedra, in Buenos Aires, on Jan 19, 2019-- my debut at a nightclub. The only way I can describe that night is that It was magical. I've never played on a system like that before and the response from the crowd was electric. Unfortunately, the audio was not recorded, so I re-recorded the set track-for-track on my XDJ-RX2. It's not the same playing on a controller and a bluetooth speaker vs. a set of nexus' and god know how many watts, but I gave it a shot. Thanks for listening!

Mathame refine their singular sound on ‘Skywalking’ and a collaboration with Tale Of Us, ‘Departure’.
Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter. Bona fide anthems in the sets of Mathame and Tale Of Us.

Philadelphia-based DJ and producer, Jay Hill, brings her soulful touch to Emerald City with I Am Here, featuring vocals from the incredible South African slam-poet Lazarusman. UK powerhouse Richy Ahmed completes the package with a weighty remix. 

Hearing Lazarusman’s poems online, Jay Hill was inspired to take two of his works and create a beautiful story. “I envisioned the final outcome to be a feel good, deep tech track and worked with a lot of percussions to add colour intrigue" she explains. Of his lyrics, Lazarusman clarifies that the line “do you remember me?” refers to “when we meet or interact with someone on a deep, spiritual level it might mean that we've possible met before in another life”. 

The EP opens with the original cut of I Am Here. The thudding kick drum is juxtaposed against a warm, woozy bassline as Lazarusman’s catchy vocal hook echoes throughout. It’s dreamy yet assured, making it perfect dance floor fodder. On his reimagining of the track, Richy Ahmed litters it with percussion and adds a pounding bassline to create that definitive after-hours number. 

Jay Hill is steadily forging a solid reputation for herself in the industry. Her DJ sets show her innate ability to transcend genres and captivate dance floors. She’s had releases on New York’s vinyl-only label Local Raider, FM Elle, and Mr C’s Superfreq imprint. South-African poet, Lazarusman, has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Florian Kruse, Martin Stimming and Alex Dimou and has released music on highly regarded labels including Gruuv, Stil Vor Talent, Get Physical and Rebellion. One of the key members of the Hot Creations family, Richy Ahmed has also had releases on Strictly Rhythm as well as his own label, Four Thirty Two. His prolific DJ sets have earned him a place in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs three years in a row.

We’re all about the debuts this year on ABODE, next up we’re proud to present the latest EP from Spanish DJ and producer, Davina Moss featuring the vocals of the very talented Issa Elle. Davina has made a name for herself with a DJ career spanning over 15 years with accomplished releases on respectable labels; Hot Creations, ViVa, Do Not Sleep and Emerald City and her tracks have gained support from some of the biggest names in the industry including Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Detlef and Patrick Topping. Title track ‘Mambale’ reflects Davina’s signature swinging drums and a groove laden bassline with Issa Elle’s sultry vocals giving the track a tribal feel. Completing the EP is Piero Pirupa’s remix which offers a slightly techier take on the original, with rolling percussion and synth builds making it the perfect club workout.

DBT stands for Do Big Things. What started as a joke in middle school has slowly transformed into an authentic movement.  Nate is from Northern Virginia and established DBT when he took his musical interest to another level while studying at the University of Miami. Beginning with college parties and moving into some of the top venues in the country, DBT has been crafting his own events and supporting other artists with a distinct energy for over a decade. Throughout college he performed at renowned Miami venues, winning multiple highly-competitive contests including a stand-out from Avicii and Steve Aoki. After gaining a strong presence in Miami he moved back to the DC area and began throwing his own events where his track record is comprised of dozens of sold out, solo headline shows at the most notable venues in the district. Much more than just gigs, these events were the culmination of his true passion, bringing like-minded people together through music. Up and down the East Coast, strangers quickly became friends, and friends became family, organically forming a beautiful community, “DBTnation”.

A few years later, in search of a new scene and sunshine, he set-up shop in San Diego to bridge DBTnation from the East to the West coast. From this, In The Bag Productions was born. A boutique-style, event production company, focused on creating 1-of-1 experiences and bringing out every attendees inner-weird. This is comprised of over-the-top productions, childlike themes, and ridiculous costumes. Most importantly, however, are the people on the dance floor. In The Bag focuses on empowering local San Diego talent, ranging from drummers to belly dancers and DJs, with opportunities to shine and share their magic. All of these factors combined, contribute to a resounding energy that can only be found In The Bag. 

Much larger than a single DJ, DBTnation is an expansive web of creative and connected individuals around the world. We invite you to become a part of this juicy community and look forward to meeting you on the dance floor.
