Here's another Magical Mystery Mix with some autumnal selections that I'm feeling at the moment. It's the follow up to Part 1 that I first recorded in February, and once again, if anyone can ID all the tracks in the mix in the next 7 days, we'll send you some Brownswood Recordings goodies.

As (Part 1 - Perspicacity)

here's an old ambient techno mix of mine, transferred from cassette tape. club du champ was a weekly electronica night at the blue box bar in vienna, hosted by peter rehberg of mego fame. it was an important part of the booming electronic scene in the 90s, providing a space where djs were allowed total freedom. at club du champ you could hear electro, dark ambient, noise, detroit techno, krautrock, industrial, dope beats, leftfield house and all kinds of electronic weirdness. open-mindedness was appreciated.
unfortunately i cannot provide a tracklist but among the artists you hear in the mix are LEO ANIBALDI, HAFLER TRIO, SPK, SEEFEEL...

This is a live recording, captured at Ego club in Düsseldorf, June 5 1999.  The music has been created with a self written step sequencer, the PX-18, controlling  a basic sample player and effects engine, all done in MaxMSP, running on a Powerbook G3. The step sequencer had some unique features, e.g. the ability to switch patterns independently in each track, which later became an important part of a certain music software.

I found the recording on a backup disk today. It has not been edited or mastered. During the first 20 minutes of the set, and before the 'encore' the Monolake CD 'Gobi' is playing in the background.

DJ and radio host on Radio Z 95.8 Nuernberg/Germany (Radioshows “Limbo Rhythm” and “Headz”).

As DJ he has performed since 1992 in the Franconian surroundings, however, also in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria… Moreover he was booked for events such as the IFA International Radio Exhibition Berlin and the biggest European Youth Fair “YOU”, also in Berlin.
Dr.Best himself considers his roots in the Hip Hop Sound of the early 80’s to the mid 90’s, but he also dealt with other styles such as Funk, Soul, Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Big Beat, House, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat. Over a couple of years he has been known in the German Clubscene as a Breakbeat-DJ, then in 2006, however, his style started to mutate… Styles such as Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Latin, Afrobeat and Disco got mixed with his Breakbeat Sound and created a new mixture which cannot be easily tagged any more.
