Living the dream is the perfect way to describe Pure Powers.  A highly versatile, energetic and gifted vocalist, Pure has become one of the west coast festival scene’s favorite voices.  Born in Northern California, he came of age on the Hawaiian island chain, where his musical vision first came into focus.  The vision is still evolving, as Pure continues to bring his message of self-love and world peace to his fellow dreamers through meaningful music.

Tours & collaborations with legendary performers such as Del The Funky Homosapien, Hieroglyphics & Ghostface Killah served as his introduction to the west coast’s most future-minded fans, and to his credit, Pure has converted more than a few listeners to his own brand of Bay Area slap.  He manifests himself in many styles, seamlessly transitioning from one end of the musical spectrum to the other.  His projects reflect the same depth as his performances - every flavor of Pure Powers somehow blends well into any occasion.

But Pure Powers is not meant to blend in.  It’s not difficult to understand why people say he was born to stand out in a crowd.  And although it’s hard to pinpoint any one reason Pure’s star keeps rising, credit must be given to a person who’s followed their heart’s passion, and continues to inspire others to find their’s.  In that way, all of us on a  similar path are not only living the dream along with him, we are living his as well.

It consists of members both native to the Hawaiian islands as well as from the Northern California. Main members: PopperJ, Luke 808, ScottieDeus, Kid Cataz, DocCid, A.I., & Pure Powers. Extended crew members: Dysfunktional, Mr. Von, Injek, Young Dee, Johnny Mack, Mr. Mo, Azrael & Jus Fly. Catastrophic is one of the first groups ever to mix west coast hip-hop with an island & reggae vibe. Also a selection from hundreds of original beats produced by Popper J & ScottieDeus aka Offset-n-Fade. Now Catastrophic Music Entertainment is legit record label ready to help upcoming artist get established.

My name is Popper J and I represent The Catastrophic Crew aka Catastrophic. We started doing live Hip-Hop shows in Hawaii in 2004, mainly on the South side of Maui (Kihei) but also all sides of the island & statewide. I am originally a Popper from Sacramento, CA and started beatboxing, beat producing, rapping, & DJing when I moved to Maui. Shorty after 2001 and helped form a crew called Catastrophic. We have opened for The Pharcyde, Del the Funky  Homosapien, The Grouch, Rebelution and more.

Each day is an opportunity to be a better lyricist, poet, and philosopher.

Hey my names Zac, but I'm also known as cHrOnIc, or chronicer. Im married to my beautiful wife Misa, and I have 3 beautiful kids. Im an avid music lover and wouldn't be able to live my life without music. I have an appreciation for all types of music from classical to heavy metal but am not very fond of country music.
