We welcome Deep House maestro DJ Aakmael onto our roster with ‘The Hardbody Project’ EP, comprised of four original compositions from the Richmond, US-based artist.

Across the past decade and a half DJ Aakmael has unveiled an impressive back catalogue of soul-drenched, dynamic deep house via revered imprints such as Uzuri, Church, Scissor & Thread, Freerange and Second Hand Records amongst many more. Here we see his latest material perfectly interlace with our growing back catalogue of bumping house and raw deep cuts.

Leading the release is ‘Hardbody’, laid out across seven minutes with chopped brass samples, bright key sequences, modulating Moogesque resonant leads and shuffled drums before ‘Track 166’ shifts focus over to a deeper aesthetic via dubbed out chord swells, organic percussion and twinkling piano melodies.

The aptly named ‘Deepshyt’ opens the flip side, as the name would suggest employing an amalgamation of deep and entrancing synth work, crisp drums and spoken word vocal chants. ‘Strobe’ then rounds out the release with a more disco-tinged House feel, fusing together funk guitar licks, cinematic strings and a snaking bass groove atop Aakmael’s signature swinging rhythmic feel.

The past year was filled with nothing but hit after hit for Analytic Records! With an all-star crew of artists both old & new, the record label sure made their mark on the Dance Music scene. To kick off 2023 Audio Analysts (the brains behind the label) are back... and they’ve got not 1, but 3 incredible artists on board for remix duties.

“Lorraine (Original Mix)”
Setting the tone is the original mix of “Lorraine” which is a cross fusion of Deep House & Tech House containing all the right elements we love such as; that TB303, glitchy percs across the board, and even a pinch of soulful vocals. This is a real driver and is bound to lift the energy of any club at any given time. Bouncy, chuggy & clean are just a few words to describe this. Audio Analysts are going to be a household name this year.

“Lorraine (Funk D’Void Remix)”
We would like to give a very warm welcome to Funk D’Void as he provides his first ever Remix for us. To have this legend interpret our track “Lorraine” made us very happy going into the new year. Funk has played across the globe in places such as; Berlin, Mascow, Singapore, Sydney, Detroit, Toronto, Tokyo & many more... releasing on labels like; Bedrock, Cocoon, Lucidflow, Soma & Tronic to name a few. To put it lightly, the guy knows what he is doing! He has taken all of our original elements & managed to piece together a sonic masterpiece that although comes across as a Deep House tune initially, actually has a lot in common with a Techno track. The underlying synth for starters introduces & finishes the song by giving it a real gritty feel. The journey continues to expand whilst your mind keeps finding new additions to contemplate as the track progresses. Everything is where it should be here... and all sits very nicely with each other.

“Lorraine (Tony Lionni Remix)”
Following on we have House music maestro Tony Lionni’s Remix! You may remember back in June 22’ we had an incredible EP from him to mark our third release (AR003) well... he’s done it again. A pure classic from the very first loop this song has all the textures and elements you need to have the boys & girls in euphoria. The way in which Tony evolves his pads & chords throughout the arrangement is a testament to his years of perfect the craft. House music at it’s finest. 

“Lorraine (MINT JPN Remix)”
Last but by no means least we have another new addition to the Analytic Crew. MINT JPN, born in 1989 started making Electronic Music in 2012, has had tracks supported by heavyweights; Darius Syrrosian, Danny Tenaglia, Shiva San & Steve Lawler. We love his take on this single and think he has come up with a great modern style thumper that will be finding it’s way onto festivals soundssound-systems this party season. Hard hitting Tech House with a rolling bassline & drum groove that will be getting it’s fair share of hands in the air. This slammer has perfect build ups to raise your excitement through the roof.

Crazy P(enis) will be forever associated with the glory days of Paper Recordings. As the acid house fever dream started to fade, a new generation of ravers took the ball and ran with it for a more groove-driven sound. The band and label were part of the pack.

Paper Recordings first met Jim, Chris and Tim when they were fresh off the boat from North Wales and Nottingham, with a sampler tucked under their arms and a bag full of amazing demos. The first release soon led to their album, 'A Nice Hot Bath With...', which wrote the blueprint for what would become known as nu-disco. Sample heavy and great musicianship fed by late nights on the dance floors of Manchester made it an instant classic.

The band grew with the addition of Danielle Moore's lead vocals and star power. On their next album, The Wicked Is Music', the sound consolidated into the one that has gone on to conquer the world. House, disco, broken beats, funk and pop are all mixed into a heady mix of forward facing dance music.

The Early Years compilation charts their rise from of their early catalogue of ground-breaking productions.
