Describe myself as more of a multi-genre DJ and leaning towards spinning more rave ready, underground electronic music.

For this mix I decided to stick with more electro-funk Detroit style records for the start and then transition into a 4/4, trance/techno ending."

After a short break from our Dock34 mix series we are back with a very special guest! 

@BXBB is a Dominican-American DJ from the Bronx based in Berlin. Gravitating towards the darker side of techno, her sets are full of energy and characterized by industrial, trance, EBM, and acid techno.

For this set I wanted to create something a bit different from my usual mixes while still staying true to me. This mix mostly includes EBM, Dark Italo and disco tracks which is a little lighter than my previous sets, but still draws in the eerie and seductive sounds I love.

For our 11th installment of the dock34 mix series we have Vivian Blush. 

Vivian Blush is a techno and electro DJ from the Northeast of the United States. In 2017 she started off DJing sets for goth and queer parties where she eventually met a welcoming crew of DJs in the New England techno and underground dance music scene and started playing harder styles like industrial techno, broken beat electro and jungle influenced sounds at warehouse venues and secret farm raves. She played her first live set in 2020 and is slowly building up her home production studio with hopes of releasing music in the future. This mix for Dock 34 sees her exploring old school rave vibes with trance, electro, and breaks mixed for a euphoric and lush concoction to take you on an interstellar journey.

issu is a UK based producer and DJ with a deep love for dark, dance floor focused electro. He has been producing from a young age and is now emerging with his own unique take on the UK electro sound. Issu has a number of tracks coming soon on some of the most exciting labels in the electro scene, with his productions characterised by dark textures, sci-fi atmospheres, driving synth lines and frantic, club ready electro beats.

As well as having a fine ear for producing, Issu has been DJing for many years and co-runs a Bristol based night and collective, Dock34. His track selections often include dark, industrial electro but incorporate elements of techno and UK breakbeat.

In this spotlight, Issu takes you on a journey through a selection of his unreleased tracks, created and refined over the past few years.

CyberDomain Artist Spotlight - issu

For our next instalment in the series we have close friend of Dock34, vBow, delivering an hour of relentless breakbeat, jungle and more. A man of many musical endeavours, he's been there with us right from the start and it's a pleasure to feature him doing what he does best. You'll find vBow playing at our upcoming night at Basement 45 on 29th October. Here's what he had to say about the mix:

"It’s ya boy vBow, von Biel’s on wheels.

Here we are, my first in the Dock34 mix series, a blend of high octane hard hitting breakbeat, jungle, IDM through to euphoric rollers and more. 

I’m a huge fan of everything breakbeat and love using it as a gateway into jungle, sometimes things get a bit silly but isn’t that why we’re all here? Surely. 

This mix will take you on a journey through genres with sounds from some of electronic musics greatest including Squarepusher, Aphex Twin and Dillinja. 

I’d say sit back and relax but for this one you’ll probably want to be standing.

Incoming is a mix from Berlin-based, Belgium-born DJ BONEY S aka 𝒟𝒥 𝐵☯𝒩𝐸𝒴 𝒮 (s as ass).

After 25 years of buying vinyl, 18 years raving, 12 years organising parties (such as Parallel parties at Griessmuehle!) her deep dedication to the scene is evident.

However, DJ BONEY S has been DJing only since September 2020!

In her own words:
“Who would have thought that COVID-19 would make her pick up the vinyl and play records after all those years?!
But hey, it's never too late!’”

This vinyl only mix for Dock34 is an eclectic 1 hour of acid dystopia, hard techno, classic rave and electro.

We’re also proud to be the first UK platform to be promoting her DJing (so this one is very special for us). So strap in and enjoy >:)

Hello!! I’m JRE - SE London based DJ and I’m vvv excited to be bringing this mix to the Dock34 mix series!

I have so much fun mixing across genres and I feel this mix showcases exactly that - bouncing from world percussion, to breaks, some electro and techno, and a few bassy bangers.

For our next installment of the Dock34 mix series we have Leeds-based Kessie.

Kessie is making waves in the underground scene with her energetic, twisty and often psychedelic sound that can put anyone in a trance (she is one to watch)! Kessie is one of the 
co-founders behind NARR Radio and a resident for Love Muscle, a queer party and collective for the more ‘discerning’ night life enthusiast.

Her stomping ground is Wire Club (Leeds) where she’s played alongside Object, Object Blue, Bruce, VTSS and many others.

She has also been billed at the White Hotel (Manchester) for Meat free and Frixxion where she plays more heavier and hard hitting realms of electronic music. 

We’re very excited to have Kessie join us for a one hour ride playing everything between dubs, ambient, industrial and aggressive bass.

Moose is a 23 year old aspiring DJ/Producer that’s been mixing for about 3 years & producing for 2(ish).

Over the past year or so he's had the chance to cut his teeth at smaller events & get involved with various online figures in the space - patterning guest mixes for labels & platforms alike. He's taken up monthly residencies with Mode London & Voices Radio, hosting a varied roster of talented artists for the shows.

Music-wise he's influenced by a wide spread of genres – but sways in favour of everything breakbeat: electro, rave, hardcore, jungle & everything in between.

London-dwelling Quiche Lorenzo (Laurence), is frankly known for absolutely nothing. However, to a certain group of individuals, he is known for curating the podcast entitled, @theafterparty - a frenetic show where he and 2 other music enthusiasts invite artists and guests to natter about the sentimentality and stories behind their favourite music, even if it is indulging in children’s tv show theme tunes and talking about mayo. Much like the podcast, Laurence’s musical interests centre around silliness and controlled chaos - whether that be jungle, DNB, hardcore, footwork, PC, psytrance and seemingly bloody anything that your parents would disapprove of and will get your hips a-tremblin’. He enjoys bringing composure to chaos in his mixing (or at least attempts to) and production. But a jot of jazz or a pinch of punk on a piping cold day never goes amiss in his downtime. With some projects underway, and some events in the pipeline for The After Party, keep your eyes peeled for more to come!

We are very excited to announce December's mix, with a very special friend of ours d.phylleia. Her debut mix is a vinyl only high paced journey through dark electro.

"Hey, I’m Dani from London and I DJ under d.phylleia.

I wanted this mix to be a mini exploration into electro/electro breaks.

The track list includes artists ScanOne, Subliminal Criminal, Urban Disturbance and Kable. Most of these records pitch themselves between electro and breakbeat, drawing upon various influences from the genre’s very rich past.

There are electro hitters from Umwelt, Dirty Hospital, W1b0, and Wee DJs - and I think all the tracks hit a sweet spot being both gritty and funky.

I’ve really enjoyed planning this mix for my dear friends here at Dock34. I hope you enjoy it too."
