Yasu-Pacino's Honey Records, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, presents a new 7inch vinyl, a beat EP with 4tracks by Yotaro, the proud beat maker from Nara, Japan!
Yotaro has released on labels in the U.S. and Europe, and also represents Honey Records, King Tone, Jazzy Sport, and others.
"The most important work in recent years," Yotaro and legendary dancer oSaam (Sucreamgoodman), who also lives and works in Nara, teamed up for this special project to produce music videos for all 4tracks on the 7inch.
The music video features oSaam and other dancers active in Nara and the Kansai region. (The basis for this project was "Yotaro X oSaam - FLOATING MOVE" released in 2020, which is also a must-see → www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6Q4o1M4ZHg

The first release will be on April 20, 2022, when "CLASH" will be available for streaming, and the music video will be released on youtube at 19:00 on the same day. After that, one song will be released every Wednesday for 4 weeks. On May 18, the fifth week, a 7inch vinyl and a digital EP with 10tracks will be released.
In recent years, the beat scene and the dance scene have developed a close relationship. This work, born out of mutual respect and insatiable inquisitiveness, is the culmination of the passionate exchange between the two scenes that has continued up to the present, and is a highly significant work with the passion to convey the magnificence of HIP HOP culture to those who see and hear it. We hope that as many people as possible will check it out.

Honey Records is an independent music label established by DJ/beatmaker Yasu-Pacino in 2012. The first 7inch vinyl "SPY VS SPY REMIX / Yasu-Pacino" was declared a favorite by DJ MITSU THE BEATS and played heavily on floors around the world. The 7inch vinyl "Colors EP" released in 2017 was spun by the world's most influential DJ, Gilles Peterson, on Worldwide FM, and was highly acclaimed in the global music scene. The "ESSENCE EP" featuring Japan's leading rappers B.D, ISSUGI, and Senninsho, and "FLYING/NO EVIL" by beat maker grooveman Spot & Yasu-Pacino = SIM BROS. Yasu-Pacino and Yotaro = Catharsiz's "Inner Journey", and other HIP HOP based works on vinyl. The group will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022, and is planning to release a series of commemorative works and compilations.

Brooklyn-based deejay and producer MentPlus is excited to announce the release of his debut instrumental EP, Stormy Nights. The 6-track effort gives listeners a variety of sounds that are based on his long history as a beat-battle producer, and party starter in the Tri-state area.
 
In the past, Ment has relied on emcees to help validate his production, but he’s looking to make music that can stand on its own. “Often times various projects I've created got shelved or lost in the noise because the lack of promotional efforts,” says Ment. “My mistake for years has been waiting in limbo for artists to do something with the beats I send them, but now I’m switching gears. I’m investing in myself instead of holding out for someone else,“ he concludes. 
 
From the brisk opener, “Whispering” to the J Dilla inspired slapper, “Dillacation,” Nights celebrates Ment’s focus on becoming an instrumentalist. Inspired by the likes of The RZA, Diamond D, DJ Premier, Madlib, and Flying Lotus, the EP serves as a commencement of his revived musical direction.

When he was crafting the EP, MentPlus wanted to add his own sound into the fold. “There’s a lot of producers who want to make songs without words, but I’m trying to establish myself as an instrumentalist, a producer, and a deejay. Stormy Nights is my way of conveying my own sound while giving everyone a beat they can really sink their teeth into.” 
MentPlus’ goal with Stormy Nights and the rest of his work are centered on supporting local talent; he also wishes today’s acts experiment with the tools used by the greats instead of relying on new technology. “Vinyl is forever, whereas your hard drive will probably crash. If you master the fundamentals, you’ll never worry about the fads and trends that that’ll come up.”
 
The project has already caught the attention of famed DJ and producer HouseShoes, as well as various tastemakers in the music industry and will be released through High Water Music, on September 23. The EP will serve as a prequel to a full 20 track instrumental LP, set to drop shortly after.
