Randall B2B Doc Scott Metalheadz history session special Rinse FM 19.02.2014

I recently found a whole bunch of mixes I did between 1992 and 1997 and have started the long process of ripping the cassettes to mp3.
As I work through them in no particular order I’ll put them up for download.
Remember the sound quality isn’t great as they were all recorded on belt drive decks through a mixer with no EQ and committed to cassette on a shabby home stereo…But what the hell, it’s that authentic 90s sound through and through.

This one is from 1993. This mixing is terrible but the tunes are great. The track list is lost in the mists of my memory I’m afraid but maybe one of you can ID all the tracks.

my set in room at freerotation festival 2014, recorded straight off the desk with no edits or anything, so please excuse the occasional slip - i thought it would be worth uploading as these 90 minutes might have been the most fun i can remember ever having as a DJ.

Every machine has its own acoustic signature - a precise frequency that indicates whether that machine is operating at peak performance. GE engineers monitor and record these sounds to perform real-time diagnostics on airplane engines, locomotives, power turbines, and medical equipment. Musician Matthew Dear and GE Acoustics Engineer Andrew Gorton teamed up to collect and compose thousands of audio emissions from the world’s most powerful machines. The result is an original track of music titled “Drop Science.”

Another amazing two months has passed and I've been fortunate enough to play many of the best festivals/events around the world. Big love to every one of you that's attended one of the sets, you've all made it the best summer i've EVER had! <3

This mix contains 22 tracks from a variety of genres/sub genres which is just the way I like my mixtapes and just like 0714, this mix is one of my favourites so far... I laid down a lot of this mix 36,000 feet in the air on the way to Dubai and the idea's just kinda flowed, maybe it was the altitude!

Ray Lugo & The Boogaloo Destroyers are the premier contemporary boogaloo and latin soul outfit working today. Their sound is inspired by the warmth and youthful spirit of classic New York Latin Boogaloo of the late 1960s. That became even more evident when the band were invited to appear at the Fania Recordings recent anniversary celebrations in New York - a fine and fitting endorsement from the crucible of boogaloo music.

Que Chevere! (My Babys Got Latin Soul) is the title track from the band's most recent album, and it's released here in a pairing with a fantastic reworking of another album track La Tumba De Fu Manchu by Athens based producer and DJ, Mr Batterey (Stamy Papadomanolakis), who explains that "the atmospheric sound of cumbia, combined with the organ keys and the woodwind instruments sounded so fresh and transported me into a exotic paradise of sounds".
