We’ve got yet another one of our event headliners stepping up to the mixtape series this week, this time its our Motorway Disco Headliners, the Mas Que Nada Brothers!

The boys have hosted events all over the UK including Glastonbury Festival, Ministry of Sound, Egg, The Cause, Colours Hoxton and The Prince Of Wales as well as having their own show on Select Radio every Tuesday.
 
Over the past year, they have thrown multiple sold out events and DJ'd alongside some of the biggest names in the field including Fat Tony, Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Michael Gray, Melvo Baptiste and ATFC. Post lockdown has seen them host their yearly sold out boat party on London’s largest party boat.

We can’t wait to see what the boys cook up this Friday!

Birmingham-based DJ and producer, Danny Canaan aka Danny Kane is the master of linking the past to the future, and his debut album ‘We Come In Peace’ on Midnight Riot is destined to be the soundtrack of the summer and beyond. 

With 16 tracks including original compositions, remixes and collabs, it displays Kane’s depth as a highly-skilled studio don and multi-instrumentalist, primarily playing the bass and piano.

A bonafide funk guru, the album is a journey into Danny’s love for all things Funk, Disco and Boogie. The album is packed with shimmering Saturday night synth-fired treats and features some of the most talented artists and songwriters on the scene including Jack Tyson Charles, Jacqui George, Sophie Paul, Princess Freesia & Natasha Kitty Katt with remixes courtesy of JKriv, Qwestlife, Art Of Tones & Yam Who?

With a career spanning more than two decades, Danny Kane’s journey through music has seen him work with some of the biggest names in the industry including Massive Attack’s Sara Nelson, Brit Pop sensations All Saints, Reggae legend Bitty McLean & the uber-talented vocalist Robert Owens while he also co-produced UB40’s hit album ‘Labour of Love 3.’ 

Outside of touring and producing for bands, Danny has remixed huge names like Chaka Khan, Amp Fiddler, Kim English and has collaborated with Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, Luke Solomon, Honey Dijon plus legendary UK disco boogie band Delegation.

To celebrate the release of ‘We Come In Peace’, Danny will be performing and showcasing his album with a special live PA alongside Sophie Paul Princess Freesia, as part of Midnight Riot’s 10th anniversary tour in London on 1st April at 93 Feet East.

 D.J. / Remix & Music producer / Sound Designer, Doctor Soul started to play music during his childhood days. In the 80’s he learned Bass and played in Indie Soul & Funk bands for the local scene. He was an active collector of LP’s and 12 – inch in Rock/ Jazz Funk/ Fusion/ Soul/ Funk/ Disco & Brazilian bands.
In 1987  he started Dj’ing in parties as well as on Radio Shows in the Bordeaux area, at that time the Acid Jazz phenomenon started to become the big thing. He became a professional Dj in the early 90’s and he explored more into Hip Hop, with fellow Rap acts such as “Iam” among others as well as in Soul Funk music and New Jack Swing…
In 1993, he recorded and co-produced his first track “Un Style Funky” on the now defunct “Double Zero” label under a Funk & Hip Hop collective and in 1994 he released “La Preuve Par Funk” in the Acid Jazz/ Funk genre. Doctor Soul became more involved in the soul scene and did the warm up for live bands such as the British combo “Izit” he also held a residency in a club (Le Senechal) in Bordeaux from 1994 to 1998. Many years later he held a residency from 2013 till 2014 at “Luncha” in Paris. Meanwhile, being close to the Bordeaux Hip Hop, Soul & Funk scene he collaborated with Tribal Jam wich was the first french New Jack Swing band.
On the musical production side, he has collaborated with many artists and bands from diverse genres even in Jazz, bringing production remixes for the likes of legendary Tania Maria, Jeff Cascaro, Mandoo & Interview to name just a few!
His own musical releases are deeply rooted in disco and funk territory with a modern sonic production touch that can grab attention from the younger generation, as well as from the elder who like to be reminded of the 80’s dance floor culture.
Since 2018 he has been hosting a monthly show on RapTz Radio and on the late night dream.com while doing Dj sets for The House Theory Radio Show, The Midnight Riot Radio, and Disko Knights.
DoctorSoul´s tracks are released on the London based MIDNIGHT RIOT record label, the Berlin based TOO SLOW TO DISCO record label and have reached many times the #1 places in worldwide Disco charts. 
They are  played by numerous very famous known DJs around the world such as: DJ Supermarkt, Ashley Beedle, Lenny Fontana,Mannix Kling, The House Theory Team, DJ White, Tony Griffin, Disko Knight, Humberto Galvàn, Crème De Coco, Jack Tennis, Ursula 1000, Yam Who?, ChuggingEdits, Limpodisco, Ruff Diamond, Disco Daze, Lego Edit, or Rob Hardt from The Cool Million team…
