@z_prime: Ta. Tricky this one - I did various versions with my drummer up front and the organ further back, but decided to "showcase" the organ sound and playing. You win some, you lose some I guess!

Great job !   Sounds are a bit harsh for my taste.  But the plying style is magnificent.

Musically absolutely perfect, the synth work nice - here are a couple thoughts: A bit more bass heavy could bring phatness. A tinge harsh in the upper mids? A somewhat bigger kick - perhaps via layering. The instruments maybe could do with a big of thickening up too, but that's difficult and some more use of reverb to get more of an acoustic feel.

Really well done Doc - probably the most exciting act in OSC at the moment! I Love the style and energy you put into this. Please keep surprising us!

Notes on the sound design:

All sounds programmed from scratch as follows.

The lead organ has 4 layers. One is a tuned percussion sound to give that classic Hammond style jazzy attack.

The Bass has 3 layers, one for the string attack, another for the body sounds and another for the low resonance. 

The piano hits at 1.03 onwards are 3 layers. 

The Percussion is quite complex - the kick is 3 layers, the hats, ride and snare 2 layers each.  The tuned toms (hear them as the panned fills) are only 2 layers!

The easy one was the organ doing the chords - simple 2 layers one a basic organ sounds and another to add body.

and, oh yes, the wahwah voice is JUST one instance Digits, with verb and EQ!! Just so we are clear about modulation eh?
