World music artist ‘Yah Doctrine’ grew up on the Island of Nassau, Bahamas. His name stands for  ‘music inspired by the word, teach the boys and girls’. ‘Yah Doctrine’s’ music can be described as thought provoking, entertaining, revolutionary, and spiritual; a conscious blend of Reggae and Hip-Hop accented with a Bahamian Twist. Early in his career as a member of the band ‘D.O.C.T.R.I.N.E.’ which stands for ‘Demonstration Of Creative Thought Revealed In Natural Elements’, he was known as ‘Dawon Stubby’, borrowing from his childhood nickname ‘Stubby’. By 2004/5 they graduated and parted ways. It was at this time with blessings he revived the band’s name ‘D.O.C.T.R.I.N.E.’, added the ‘Jah’ as a prefix and began using the stage name ‘Jah Doctrine’. In 2020 he changed the prefix from ‘Jah’ to Yah, in tribute to an Ethioptic-Hebrew tradition. 

In 2020 ‘Jah  Doctrine’ made the official name change to ‘Yah Doctrine’ releasing the EP Love & Revolution. The lead single Forgiveness was featured on http://Reggaeville.com.  In 2021 he reunited with Bobo Zion of Zion Sound International to release the well recîeved ‘Poster Child Mixtape’. In January of 2022 ‘Yah Doctrine’ began releasing songs from ‘432 Dreams Come True’.  The lead reggae single ‘One People’ produced by House of Riddim of Austria is making the rounds. The song reached an international audience and was featured in Reggae Vibes Magazine (Europe) in 2008. It was followed up by Nuff Gal, also featured on The Bahama Hot Ones climbing to No. 3.
