I followed fellow Ret Sat member Cloud Dancer, and we we're both asked to represent the minimal psytrance sound for the weekend, both of us playing the only four-to-the-floor sets of the whole festival. Luminosity 2013 Night Set

Played in August 2013 during the blue moon to a packed beach of blessed out full moon dancers. Dodd and Compass Rose finished off the night with a soothing and uplifting blend of house and chilled out bass music.

Returning Saturn had the honour of creating a stage, The Lounge, at the second incarnation of the Luminosity Project at Sunny Daze campground in Shawnigan Lake. Saturday afternoon saw the Returning Saturn roster holding down the sunshiney vibes, and this is my 2-3pm set from that day. A diverse mix, selected especially to accentuate the gloriously warm sun, the chilled out atmosphere, and the smiling faces that were signature sight of the entire weekend.

Dodd - Live From The Lounge @ Luminosity 2014

My set from the beach stage at the 2014 Vancouver Island Burning Man Regional, Otherworld. Very much inspired by Robot Heart, and played to a crowded daytime dance floor on an overcast day, I attempted to summon the sun with a playful blend of bumpin' quirky deep house. I almost succeeded halfway through, and had a few glorious rays burst through during 'FTC - Noom', which was met with roaring approval from the collection of loose and happy dancers :)

Dodd - Summertime In The Underworld

Played live at Full Moon Medicine 54, in a gorgeously decorated Sunset Room, I decided I needed a departure from the steady diet of house and techno I'd been slangin' for the entire summer. I had a lot of fun exploring and revisiting the world of bass music, and compiled this set with the lush greenery and sacred vibes in mind. A smooth journey through a variety of mid-tempo styles, ending in an abrupt and self-indulgent crash at the end ;)

Dodd - Beats From The Secret Garden

For the last 5 (or 6?) years in a row, I've had the privilege of playing an early morning/afternoon set at local Victoria legend Kit's birthday party on Dallas Rd. Beach. The weather has consistently been amazing, and the view is always breathtaking. I selected tracks that I thought would go the scenery, and would ease people into the afternoon/evening/whenever of dancing. This is the first time I've managed to record one of my sets at this event - I tend to play a little less tight than normally, but I quite enjoyed this one regardless. I hope you do too.

Here is my set from the peak hours of the 9th annual Seasons Advance in Victoria, BC. A beautiful night of deep music, I followed after Beatfarmer, and was tasked with getting the dancefloor up and moving hard for one final push. I really enjoyed putting this set together, fusing a lot of older techno/trance sounds that I used to play with the newer deep/tech house sound that I love.
