ROUDANI 434» est l’un des projets réalisés au cours de la résidence. Conçu par Paul Armand- Delille en collaboration avec des musiciens de la vallée du Souss et de la région du Haut Atlas. Les enregistrements ont ensuite été mixés à la SIRA, ancienne imprimerie à Asnières sur Seine et quartier général de MAD Agency.

La pochette a été réalisée par l’artiste Thomas Mailaender à partir d’anciennes photographies africaines. Elle résulte d’un travail de colorisation à l’aquarelle.

￼Dans cet EP, Paul Armand-Delille nous offre un instantané musical de Taroudant, ville-carrefour des cultures l’Atlas marocain. On y retrouve les sonorités gnawa : la basse guembri et le son métallique des caracavas avec Abdallah Roudani et son groupe, les chants de Moncif Bouboul. On découvre également la voix puissante du poète Simo Baala, et le chant inspiré d’Andrey Zouari qui côtoie le Violon berbère, la flute en roseau, ou l’Oud. Paul y pose à son tour, des solos de guitare flamenco, ainsi qu’une production léchée mêlant synthétiseurs analogiques et touches subtiles électroniques.

L’EP « ROUDANI 434 » est l’aboutissement d’un travail d’échange culturel et créatif. Il regroupe cinq titres fleuves où les musiciens s’expriment à tour de rôle, par des solos ou par des textes en arabe, anglais ou français, dans un cercle musical où chacun prend tout à tour la parole comme le veut la tradition gnawa.

La concrétisation du projet s’est traduite par une performance réunissant chants traditionnels, instruments divers et séquences électroniques ; pour le plaisir d’un public roudanais peu habitué à voir sa culture locale revisitée.

Après avoir été diffusé sur des bornes d’écoute pendant les expos du ‘434’, l’EP «ROUDANI 434» arrive sur les plateformes numériques le 21 juin 2013.

The downtempo Guru from South Africa is back with a new Ep of 3 original tracks. As described in the titles and cover art, Sadhu Sensi dedicated this release to mother sun. 
Crystal Sun draws inspiration from the point where the sun is at its highest position and feeds us with energy. Following the myths where the sun transitioned to the west, the land of the feather serpent and the great Mayan priests. It taught them the knowledge of the stars. With that came the message of the end of time.

A piece of music that carries positive vibes and the joy of life from a musician who found inner peace and wants to transmit this energy.

It is said that the Holy City of Benares (बनारस), India, is so ancient that it is held by the Gods themselves and that its visitors leave a part of their soul while passing through. What they bring back in return is unclear, but those who have been there could tell you that it has something to do with…magic!
For his first release, producer David Mears presents his debut track, “Varanasi”, as well as two variations. The first one is a an orchestral piece combining originals sounds from his personal footage shot in Varanasi, hang drum tunes (played by him), poignant cellos and clarinets. The second, “Sian Rava”, tells the story of a farmer meeting his past lives in the deep forests of Northern Thailand.
To complete this exciting yet intense musical journey, we cross mountains, jungles, oceans and continents to finally reach South America where the artists, Gama (Brazil) and Barda (Argentina), offer us their own reinterpretation of Mears’ pieces: as the first reshapes “Sian Rava” in order to plunge even deeper into the dark meanders of the soul and the latter turns “Varanasi” into a joyful chant led by the artist Gus’ voice, bringing the EP to a bright and colourful ending.

It is a great pleasure to be able to premiere the second single off this LP - a wonderful track called 'Las Nalgas de Venus' which features ULTRA K whose voice has been vocoded into the hypnotizing and dreamy dembow beats creating an outstanding piece of Latin America-inspired electronic music.
