My debut set in WA was certainly one to remember thanks to the legends at Madhatterz! The level of detail in the festival and the music flow was spot on. 

I put this set together to kick things off in an eery halloween style theme, with a flow of melodic full on, twilight and night time psy goodness. 

This was certainly one of my favourite sets of the year!

BRIM Pt.1 and Pt.2  is a culmination of my favourite artists, songs, genres and engineering techniques i have learnt over the past few years.
All of my other mixes to date have been custom made for others (Tailored Sets playlist) or my Drum & Bass Mix Series to learn new ways of mixing, gain staging, equilizing and honing in my craft of engineering complex mixtapes within Ableton.

A huge amount of inspiration came from the below artists.

Second of a two track EP, Shivacult - Horcrux in Lingampally.
Album art featuring Pochamma in Tellapur, Lingampally.

The "Horcrux in Lingampally" EP has been inspired by Lingampally, a not-very-special suburban in Hyderabad (India), its culture and the people. The surrounding villages, Tellapur,  Gopannapalle, Nagulapally and Shankarpally have made a high impact on the inspiration and the construction of these musical works, with their picturesque atmosphere and unique people that live here. The EP has been made with special reverence to Tara, the goddess after whom the main commercial market, Taranagar is named.   

"Horcrux in Lingampally" is an experimentative piece with a different time signature, a 5 Beat cycle. The corresponding tala, called "Chapu tala"  in the carnatic Indian classical rhythm dictionary, has been brought alive in this dark, composition that contains samples recorded from the streets and temples of Lingampally.

"Bhadrakali Ketamine Reality" has been modelled based on dark pop; a groovy, dark rhythm, with harsh atmosphere. This track features a sample from a vagabond rural-shehnai artist (origins and details unknown but might be possible based in the villages surrounding Lingampally) named "Maalai", who was recorded specifically for this purpose.
