Serious has been on the circuit with Champion for years hosting headline sets across the UK & Europe at major festivals and some of the countries best venues including the likes of Outlook Festival, Boomtown, Church, Fabric and thats just scratching the surface. He also tore the roof down at our Launch in 2016.

GHST boasts a highly impressive track record including releases on Four40 & HotCakes whilst receiving a whole host of support across Radio 1, 1Xtra, Apple Beats 1, Kiss FM & Kiss Fresh, Rinse FM, Radar Radio, NTS and more. Toddla T (Radio 1) and Anna Lunoe (Beats 1) are both supporters of his music whilst DJ EZ has been playing his track 'NY 99' all summer and its easy to see why.

GHST's family are originally from Dominica a tiny island of 70,000 in the Caribbean, his grandparents, aunt and uncle still live there.

After Hurricane Maria hit he spent 7 long days waiting to hear if they were alive or anything from the island. Luckily they were all found safe and he's been fortunate enough to bring them back to London.

GHSTGHSTGHST - Buss Da Dance Ft. Serious [Free DL]

J69, a 1Forty & Tank Resident and a name very familiar in the underground scene having honed his craft for the best part of a decade. Although the Sheffield born producer is predominantly recognised for his contributions to bassline he's no stranger and very well versed in grime too with his grime releases being remixed by the likes of Rude Kid & Spooky.

Appearing on BBC Radio 1Xtra with a Guest Mix for DJ Cameo and more recently Reprezent Radio he's also had releases on some of the biggest labels in the scene including Project Allout Records & Off Me Nut Records. The legend that is DJ EZ has also championed his music for quite a while including on his infamous 3.5 hour Boiler Room set.

Moving toward the end of 2017 he tried his hand at UK Funky taking inspiration from early Lil Silva, Ill Blu & Crazy Couzins productions. We can safely say he has nailed the classic UK Funky sound at the first time of asking with his track entitled 'Wanna Say'.

A debutant on the 1Forty Label, Ali McK is one of the most exciting talents rising out of the UK Funky scene right now. The 20 year old producer has being a contributing force to pushing Funky over the past 12 months both producing it and pushing it out through his own Label - Articulate Sound. Having also released on other reputable Labels with IYZ on the likes of More Time Records and In:flux Audio this has lead him to gain support support from the likes of Roska, Murder He Wrote, My Nu Leng, Distro, Killjoy, Marcus Nasty and loads more.

Regular appearances at Beastwang as well as playing for Tumble Audio in his home city of Nottingham, and further afield such as The Nest (London) this has given him a platform to carry on pushing the resurgence of Funky through his live sets in different areas of the country. Featuring on Rinse FM earlier this year he’s also appeared on Radar Radio & Reprezent to boost his presence both in the Midlands and beyond Ali McK is well on his way to being a household name in UK Funky.

Arguably one of 1Forty’s biggest collaborations yet comes from Tumble Audio’s longest standing servent Killjoy & UK Funky legend MC Shantie.

Having being a key player in Nottingham’s underground music scene for the past 6 years his productions have been duly rewarded with consistent releases in the last few years on the likes of Champion’s Label - Formula Records, and also Tumble Audio.. The Label he has pioneered since starting out alongside his own venture - Joyride. His hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed over the years with productions for the likes of D Double E as well as mix’s for FabricLive & THUMP.

Jumping on the vocal is Shantie who arguably had the anthem of 2017 with ‘Runnin It Red’ alongside Champion. Having been in the spotlight for over 15 years across the Funky, Garage & Bass scenes he’s recently being championing the resurgence of Funky with Marcus Nasty on Rinse FM. To follow up on this 1Forty has arranged this long awaited collab between 2 giants of the UK scene.

The room was decorated with plush velvet furnishings and panelled with rich mahogany, every inch catching the light as if it had been polished that very morning. It was an intimidating space, unwelcoming almost. The heavy doors swung open and a crowd of well dressed men and women entered chatting loudly, some individuals shouting to be heard above the rest. Every one took their seats and swiftly silence swept the room. Across the room they glared at one another - a palpable tension cut through the air. Today they would make a decision that could change everything. 

Following releases from Fantastic Twins, Joe Goddard, Al Jerry and Logtoad, Optimo Music continue their Against Facism imprint with instalment number five from Night of the Jaguar founder Mr TC. The label acts as a platform to “provoke dialogue that is fundamentally anti-racist, anti-sexist, non-homophobic, non transphobic, non-ageist” and “non-ableist”, with all profits going to Hope Not Hate, a charity who campaig against “politics of hate.” Mr TC's contribution explores deep hypnotic dance floor cuts across the EP, which includes a collaboration with Rat Life Records head Credit 00 on vocals.
