Day 2 of our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover for Trans Awareness Week we stay in London for UK house legend Grace Sands.

Grace is a veteran of the UK’s pioneering deep house scene, having started her DJ journey with the iconic DiY Soundsystem as one half of the duo Digs and Woosh. Together, they shared a love for hip hop, funk, post-punk, disco, and jazz. Over the years, Grace has hosted DiY nights and her own events in London, which led her to a residency with the London Queer night Adonis, where her knack for reading the crowd and blending classic and modern influences shines.

Grace has featured online for Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab LDN, and CRACK Magazine and curated a HOMOBLOC takeover for LockdownFM.live. She runs her own label, Sands of Time, and hosts events under the same name at The Lion & Lamb in London. A regular on radio, she appears on NTS, Rinse FM, Foundation FM, and Netil Radio, and co-hosts the ADONIS show on NTS.

The Nightmare of Fabrication

Bassiani Podcast 272 brings together two techno heavy-hitters for a three-hour bout of heady, rolling grooves. In one corner comes Georgian mainstay and grassroots agitator NDRX, a formative member of Tbilisi's techno contingent. His early efforts in expanding the city's nightlife offerings helped drive radical change, and shaped the decades since. His mission further translated into the founding of Stare at DJ (2012), and 11th Floor (2015). Both are vehicles for the gathering and promotion of local talent without which, Georgia today would look much different. In the other corner comes Dustin Zahn, a midwestern champion for tribal rhythms and pulsating hypnotism. Heavily armed with a flurry of references including the brain-melting IDM of the late 90s and iconoclastic beats, Dustin founded Enemy Records in 2004. In recent years, he has made appearances on labels like Blueprint, Token, and Rekids. He also hosts the Trainwrecks Podcast, an outlet for intimate face-to-face chats with industry peers. This storied duo are a menacing match, a b2b pairing that manifests the adrenaline-fueled techno native to both their sounds and whips up a sum greater than both its parts. This latest number is a bout of fevered techno havoc devised by two sonic confrères, an auditory onslaught of hammering loops recorded live at Bassiani's season closing night.

With a career spanning decades, Retina.it known also for their pioneering QMen project with Rino Cerrone - helped ignite the original Napoli techno movement back in 1995. Their music has graced labels like Design Music (Marco Carola) and Conform (Gaetano Parisio), defining the city's signature raw, analog sound.

Domenico Crisci continues to carry that torch forward. With acclaimed releases on L.I.E.S., Jealous God (Silent Servant, Regis, James Ruskin), Semantica, and more, he remains one of the most uncompromising voices in modern techno.

This release is a convergence of two generations - uncompromising, hypnotic, and true to the roots of Napoli’s underground.

Axel Picodot hits hard with « No Future », his first full album made of 11 tracks. This is a homemade production, in his very own label built with Ruben Hassid and Nico Moreno. This one year old structure signed the names of tomorrow’s industrial techno, such as Paramod, Tim Tama or Haedes. 
At first sight, the album seems purely violent. Industrial techno cares the illusion of creating a disorder, chaos out of music. That’s why death is omnipresent in Axel’s works, reminding we’re all damned to die anyway. 
However, the message wants to be clear: industrial techno puts us in a timeless environment, escaping from the future. As night walkers, we silently cross the warehouse, eager to dance. Be obsessed by the present, abandon your future.

After releasing records on L.I.E.S, Jealous God, Semantica and his own label project Summa Cum Laude to name a few, Domenico Crisci quickly rose to prominence among purveyors of timeless techno. One of his earlier records on Jealous God cemented his reputation as a careful engineer of effective, hard, crafty dance floor cuts that comfortably sit next to early works of the genre’s pioneers. Domenico’s sets consist of an eclectic mix of acid, techno and electro with a non-conforming puristic approach. Causing chaos to some of the best clubs in world.
