24/7 is a musician duo/collective which suffers from multiple personality disorder. whereas one half/part of the duo/collective tries to lobotomize itself down to a single bass player, the other halfs/parts completely lost it over the years. after having parts of their personality in a bottled cloister in tibet fighting for its freedom the rest spread out to conquer the worlds eclectic music treasures. experiencing a 90 year old abbess as a teacher, the mind fragments mastered the 24/7 chambers of christian rap. recently the 24/7 held meetings at a betty fnord clinic franchise engaging all their personalities to form the worlds most underestimated new wave band. yesterday the plan was mutilated by two of the personalities - holding 51% of the shares - forcing the collective to attempt a master degree of obviously useless posing.
enormous effort had to be made to pull out bloody contracts and sue the responsible fragments to hell. the product of this multiple split up expresses days going by, days going by - endlessly pulling you into the future. what did the florist say by the way?
last saturday some of 24/7 was compiling new sound material. two thirds of the duo loved it and dropped in immediately to get rid of the recent explorations into advanced psycho shopping music. the remaining third kept its head stuck into a bag of audio cables causing the efficient set to head into a deflationsspiral. most of the tracks were hanged drawn and quartered - only one track of that material could be saved.
one of the24seven split off the collective being hit by an acute schizophrenic episode and hid in a changing cabin of a turkish steam bath for 2 weeks pretending to be erdem tunakan. meeting Elvis residing in the neighbor cabin he was equipped with some digital drumsticks leading to the next brand new recording. its a love song about the late life of semi-herbivorous giraffes in the year of 2073.

ENSEMBLE PROFILE
KUTUMBA is a folk instrumental ensemble committed to the celebration, research and preservation of the diversity that exists in indigenous Nepali music. KUTUMBA firmly believes that this richness in Nepali music is directly significant of the rich diversity that exists in the Nepali people. 
Comprised of seven young and spirited musicians, KUTUMBA has played a significant role in popularizing Nepali folk instruments such as the Sarangi, Tungna, Dhimay, Khin, Bansuri and Murchunga (to name just a few of the 52 instruments in the KUTUMBA library) among global folk connoisseurs, and most excitingly, among fellow Nepali youth. 
The word KUTUMBA holds a special meaning in the Nepali language. It stands for a unique bond among community members. With special interest in community building through music, KUTUMBA engages in various community and development initiatives using their music as a tool for expression and communication.

KUTUMBA MEMBER PROFILES






Arun Manandhar, Tungna
Arun first learnt to play the guitar while watching his brothers’ play and thinking that they were cool. He started jamming with Rashil and then decided to learn a Nepali instrument to be able to join Kutumba, so he picked the Tungna. He says it was a difficult instrument to learn but the support of his band members proved invaluable.
Arun also sings during his free time. His favourite Nepali artists are Deep Shrestha and Deepak Kharel.

Binay Maharjan, Bansuri
As the newest member of Kutumba, Binay Maharjan joins Rubin in the wind section to lend extra wings to the ensemble's flute repertoire. At 22, Binay has been playing the flute for 6 years now, and has toured in China and all over Nepal. He started out under the guidance of Ram Krishna Duwal and studies under Raman Maharjan presently. 
Binay's immediate future plans include releasing his first solo album and rejoining formal education. Inspired by a range of musical genres such as fusion, rock, Latin and classics, Binay enjoys composing and arranging his own music.

 
Pavit Maharjan, Percussion
Pavit works magic on percussions and is a vital binding force for the band. Kutumba was born when ‘the guys’ got together at Pavits’ shop one day and decided that after playing together for Sukhrabar (a monthly music event at the Patan Museum) all those evenings, they needed to come up with their own band. They were all keen to develop Nepali folk music and extend its reach to their generation of young Nepalis.
Pavit started playing the Madal since he was a child, but it was only after class 12 and a friends’ influence that he decided to play music professionally. It was then that he picked up the keyboards and has since moved on to playing in big events such as Shikhar tours, Kantipur TV, Taal, Shukrabar and more. Besides Kutumba, Pavit manages his shop, teaches keyboard at Shuvatara School and loves to paint.

Raju Maharjan, Percussion
Inspired by his father, there probably isn’t a percussion instrument Raju cannot play. From the Madal to the Khin, Raju’s speciality is the Tabla, in which he has a Masters degree from Allahabadh. At 27, is considered one of the best percussionists in the country.
Raju loves to listen to classical folk tunes but also sing slow melodious ones. In fact he recently recorded a few songs, but will we ever get to hear them? “It’s for my personal interest only” he claims. Raju also teaches music at Shuvatara School.

Rashil Palanchoke, Sarangi
Rashil wanted to be a guitarist when he was growing up. He played the instrument faithfully until class seven, but on a trip to Pokhara, he heard a young kid play the Sarangi and it changed his life. The Sarangi cast a spell on him and when he came back to Kathmandu, Rashil was determined to learn how to play the instrument. And learn he did! Not only did he learn to play it, he has also been researching the instrument to further the range of sounds it produces. He indulges in trips to villages around the country on a mission to learn more about indigenous Nepali instruments.

Rubin Kumar Shrestha, Flute
This young genius was inspired by the Mahabharata and Ramayana to pick up the flute. At the age of 12, Rubin fell in love with the way Lord Krishna played his instrument, and began to learn to play the flute himself. At 20, he has completed a Bachelors course in classical music. He likes listening to fusion music and maintains that as his first interest.
If you thought this versatile flutist was only a connoisseur of the flute think again, Rubin claims he knows how to play up to 15 musical instruments! He teaches music at Shuvatara School and composed the oft- played jingle for Kantipur News. He says meeting ‘the guys’ at Aarti (Pavit’s shop) and being a part of Kutumba, is a dream come true.

Siddharth Maharjan, Effects
Siddhartha at 20, is the newest and youngest member of Kutumba. He joined the band to fill in for Shambu (a past member) and the rest is history. Siddhartha was always interested in music but it was more of the pop rock and guitar variety. With effects, he now covers all sorts of sounds from the Ghungaroo to the Jhyamta.
Siddhartha learnt all he knows from pure observation and says Shambu taught him a lot before his left. Besides music, he also loves sketching and painting and firmly believes that there is scope for great art in Nepal. He is a full time student at Sirjana College of Fine Arts.
 
DISCOGRAPHY
Kutumba was established in the year 2004 has released three albums till date. Their first self titled album Kutumba was released in the year 2004 and it is marketed by Mahabouddha Records. The album covers ten tracks of Nepali traditional tunes such as Mirmire Bhaka, Banjo Khet ma, Kauda, Lekali, Sangini, Kalilo Tama Lai, Holi songs, Sal ko Paat, Resham Phiriri and Tamang Selo.
After the success of their first album, Kutumba came up with their second album in the year 2005. The title of this album suits the band attitude and their image. They came up with a second album named ‘Folk Roots” that features a variety of Nepali hit tunes. This album was marketed by East Meets West Music box (EMW), Thamel, Kathmandu. This album contains super hit Nepali tunes as Saya Thari Baaja (100 Pipers), Asarai Mahina Ma (Monsoon Bliss), Maitighar (Coming Home), Sindhuli Gadi (Times of Happiness), Phoola Ko Thunga (Longing), Ghar Timro (Where do you Belong), Rato Pachyauri (Moving Along), Jhamke Phuli (Feeling Alive!), Tamang Selo (Eastern Rhythm) and Hyangu Sinha (Solace in Harmony).
In 2004 and 2005 Kutumba worked hard to create a market brand for themselves. They did several concerts and fund raising programs to promote the band. For their third album they thought of making entirely new music. In the year 2006 they came up with a unique blend that became their third album titled “Naulo Bihani” and marketed by East Meets West Music box (EMW), Thamel, Kathmandu. This album contains original compositions that carry stories and carries different tracks as Folk Men, Kanchi, Utsav, Naulo Bihani, Feb 1(+3), Jalna, Yak Walk, Farewell, Manchare and Vasudeva Kutumbakam.




Como todo bom fã da e-music já sabe, Under Construction é o projeto paralelo de Xangaii, líder do Paranormal Attack. Do Pop ao Rock, do Electro House ao Dubstep, essa é a pegada “desencanada” do Under Construction.

Em 2009 , Xangaii assinou a trilha da campanha da Xxxperience Special Edition com a faixa “World Of Dreams”, neste ano produziu “Storytellers”, que já estrela o bombado vídeo de lançamento do Xxxperience Festival 16.

E 2012 parece ser o ano de Xangaii! "Set Me Free" e "Till The End Of Time" atingem o Top100 do Electro House no Beatport e a track “Losing Control” ,  a bombástica parceria com Ivete Sangalo, que até o levou ao Carnaval de Salvador, chegou ao topo das mais vendidas do iTunes, à frente de Adele e Paul McCartney – a faixa está no álbum “Carnaval de Ivete Sangalo”, lançado pela Universal Music , o que talvez tenha sido o maior gol da carreira do Under Construction.
Mais participações de peso estão agendadas ainda para este ano de 2012.

ElectrowaveZ is a musical duo with a unique twist. The project is the brainchild of Charlie Shaabi and Richard Savo, two brothers that have a lot more in common then a strong personal bond.
