Recently planted in the heart of the European scene, US ­born Oshana, has stacked up a list of accomplishments in the last three years. Following popular releases on highly respected labels Brouqade, Body Parts and Rue De Plaisance, she steps up to deliver the first blow for Partisan, a fresh, new imprint, offering a natural fit for her unique style. An innovative dancefloor focus binds together the three tracks on the Arcadia EP, with each piece bringing its own identity. Living up to its namesake, “Accelerator” opens the EP with a fast­paced, forward­thinking approach. Warm, melodic tones resonate throughout“Day 21”, while “Arcadia” erupts with mind ­bending synths and noticeable grit.  Meanwhile, the constant throughout the EP is a razor­ sharp focus on the percussion. All in all, it's a strong, step forward for Oshana and the perfect start to Partisan, a label that promises so much for the future.

"After all these Various Artist EP’s i wanted to focus on one artist at a time that would allow them to really show a spectrum as broad as possible.

How people consume music changed in last 30 years. When i got into music in the first place it was all about the album. The full package with cover, artwork, side notes. I want to bring back that feeling in terms of programming, artwork and listening pleasure. Following the tradition of my favourite rap LP’s the tracks are all connected with skits and interludes for a full listening experience. It’s dance floor material, but the LP feel of it makes it great for home listening as well.

I am really happy to kickstart this with Fabe. I got introduced to him by a friend a few years ago and it´s crazy how this guys turns up from track to track. I think this is his strongest release so far as he really shows what he is capable of in terms of style. Super happy to have him onboard as he is one of loveliest guys around as well. Salut Fabe !!! I picked this up a few years back and always had a soft spot for it... hope I did it justice

For this ReVision, I reconstructed the most famous and successful song from one of the leaders of the New York New School of the 1990s. 

Released as the first single from their debut album—World Clique—“Groove Is In The Heart” was released in August of 1990, and shot Deee-Lite into the stratosphere. This track’s crossover appeal was by design—claiming the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play in 1990—featuring guest vocalists Bootsy Collins and Q-Tip. 

This song—remarkable—was a beacon of creative sampling, as one of the first radio played pop records to feature such an extensive list of source material, including snags from Bel-Sha-Zaar, Herbie Hancock, Vernon Burch, Ray Barretto Theme From Green Acres, Ralph MacDonald, Billy Preston, The Headhunters, Hateful Head Helen, and even more. 

I remade this mimicking the programming of the original—which was a major challenge just to get the percussion sections to emulate a multilayer of samples being summed—added additional drums and rearranged the song to be a longer version that I always wanted. 

I used the Roland JV-1080 to reproduce the horn sections and saturated everything to 1990. This was produced with @EventideAudio effects processing, including UltraReverb, SP2016 Reverb, and Tony Visconti’s Tverb.

Hydro is a Canadian disco band consisting of Joe La Greca, Peter Dowse, Fritz Walton, and Bill Hill.  Many of these musicians have been involved with many past disco projects from Canada including France Joli, Melody Stewart, Nightlife Unlimited, Carol Jiani, Montreal and Kat Mandu.
Hydro features vocalist Lorna Di Fiore covering the raw and sexy lead over the extreme disco production. One of the identifying traits of disco music from this studio crew - deep bass guitars, wild electrifying breaks, extended instrumental arrangements and pure dance satisfaction.
"Stop Your Teasing" was a big underground hit in many clubs, thanks to the sound of pure disco music of the late 70's.  This straight-from-vinyl-rework is a combination of both sides and it's quantized to make it dj friendly.
