Al-Jive Mestizo - Gli Ultimi Filibustieri

Sicilian by birth, gypsy by soul, Alberto has spent the last few years (pre-pandemic) cruising the roads of Europe in his Mestizo Wagon attending events and festivals from Hungary to Portugal, from the British to the Balearic islands .
He calls himself a DJ/Selecta and his sets, initially inspired by gypsy/balkan music, have expanded their musical horizons over time, getting lost in the most remote corners of the planet where Alberto enjoys his favourite activity: digging.
It's not easy to classify his selections in a musical genre, so we put them among the eclectic ones, between Global and Tropical Bass, Ethnic-Tribal House, Multiculti Downtempo.
Sensitive to the themes of immigration and eco-sustainability, he tries to convey messages between the lines of his selections which, at times fast and festive, at others slow and psychedelic, lead to the exploration and mixing of the most disparate cultures or to an inner journey so that these themes do not go unnoticed.
Pandemic surprised him during one of his annual visits to his native Sicily and...................... ….To Be Continued…..

Siciliano di nascita, zingaro nell’anima, Alberto ha trascorso gli ultimi anni (pre pandemia) attraversando le strade d’Europa sul suo Mestizo Wagon partecipando a festival ed eventi dall’Ungheria al Portogallo, dalle isole Britanniche alle Baleari. 
Si autodefinisce DJ/Selecta e i suoi set, inizialmente ispirati dalla musica gypsy/balcanica, nel tempo hanno allargato i loro orizzonti musicali perdendosi tra gli angoli più remoti del pianeta dove Alberto si diletta nella sua attività’ preferita: il digging.
Voler classificare in un genere musicale le sue selezioni non e’ cosa facile, quindi le inseriamo tra le eclettiche balzellanti tra Global e Tropical Bass, House Etnico-Tribale, Multiculti Downtempo.
Sensibile alle tematiche, di radici ormai non più recenti ma purtroppo sempre attuali, dell’immigrazione  e dell’eco-sostenibilità’ cerca di trasmettere messaggi riconducibili a tali tematiche tra le righe delle sue selezioni che, a volte veloci e festanti, altre lente e psichedeliche, portano ad esplorare e mescolare tra loro culture più’ disparate o ad un viaggio interiore affinché tali temi non passino inosservati.
La pandemia lo ha sorpreso durante uno dei suoi passaggi annuali nella sua natia Sicilia e ….CONTINUA…..

crazy times - for a together

For 1 1/2 years we have been living in crazy times....
For me, as a person and an artist, a point has been reached where I would like to position myself once more....

For a togetherness...

We may have different opinions...
but we are humans, friends, girlfriends, brothers and sisters, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us!

We may have different certainties, sources (politicians, doctors, virologists, sociologists, psychologists, journalists, scientists, philosophers, friends), according to which we act, but we are still people, friends, girlfriends, siblings, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us!

We may have different fears, for example of a disease or its side effects, or the measures to limit this disease and the basic rights and other things, but we are still people, friends, girlfriends, siblings, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us!

We may have made different decisions to vaccinate ourselves this year (this year / next year another time) or not to vaccinate ourselves...
but we are human beings, friends, siblings, children, parents - that connects, or may connect us!

Now some feel safe because they are vaccinated and criticize others because they are unvaccinated and endanger others because they could infect them. The unvaccinated criticize the vaccinated, because they do not (have to) test themselves anymore and thus could (could) infect others and endanger others, no matter if vaccinated or not vaccinated ... but we are human beings, friends, siblings, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us!

Some warn about the consequences of a disease, and may be right, or not - but is this the only dangerous disease in our lives? The others warn about the (late) consequences of a vaccination that has not been tested long enough and may be right, or not... two opposing opinions, sometimes even in our own thoughts - but we are people, friends, girlfriends, brothers and sisters, children, parents - that connects, or may connect us!

The thoughts, the conversations, the not spoken towards the other person, often especially the written in the vastness of the social media of the Internet excites us and others, hurts us and others by us and others, seems to separate us, - but we are still people, friends, girlfriends, siblings, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us!

So now there is decreed, or self-chosen, a further division - 2G (for vaccinated or recovered)makes it easier or harder, depending on the view - among other things, also in the cultural field... allows theoretically full rooms, maskless, testless.... but only for vaccinated and recovered, who are demonstrably contagious, but no longer need to test themselves and then could infect others at a 2G party or infect themselves there and then infect others elsewhere... 
Should we perhaps only allow 2G events  and shopping, buses, segregated areas on trains, etc. for the vaccinated and recovered on one side and for the unvaccinated on the other - i.e. separately? But we are human beings, friends, siblings, children, parents - that connects, or may connect us!

I am for the connecting... and trust in life... and our own decision to do the right thing... concede to the other person to vaccinate or not to vaccinate, to live healthy or not to live healthy.

I decide not to support the divisive and will not be available as an artist and human being for the divisive, for events that exclude people, BECAUSE we are people, friends, girlfriends, siblings, children, parents - That connects, or may connect us.

We may be different, have different opinions - but we should not forget what unites us

We together, for and in a togetherness!
