I hadn't been singing very long, five years or so, when I wrote this song.  A considerable number of my family are very talented singers and musicians.  I always hoped some of their talent would rub off by relation.  My cousin, Gary, plays a cool lead on his classical guitar.  You're gonna like this--promise.

As Close As I Can Be - tract 9

Original song about my daughter that passed away after a car accident.  The song is based on  II Samuel 12:23 used at her funeral.  The pic is of her grave stone.

My dad claimed he loved buttermilk.  He would drink it and say he liked it.  He really  must have, but I don't see how he could of.  It's awful.  I mean I like the stuff used as an ingredient, in pancakes and biscuits, but straight out of the carton--come on.   Anyway, check out my buttermilk tribute song to my dad, "I Don't Do Buttermilk."

A really cool old folk, country type song.  I just learned and recorded it on my phone.  Nora Jones with Billie Joe Armstrong cut it, and the Everly Brothers did too.  They all did it better than me.

Long Time Gone

My paternal grandparents, Rev. Barkley Lott and Beatrice Smith Lott, outside on of the churches in Mississippi where he was a pastor.  I wrote this song about them and their family--which is my family too.

Turning New Ground

This is for a good friend of mine, Ron McKee, that's fighting cancer.  No matter how rough his day is I noticed he's always smiling.
