I wrote this song a year ago right after I joined SoundCloud and it amazes me how far I have come in a year of publicly sharing my music. The gift this has been for me is more than I could ever ask for!!!! I am so excited to continue to share music with you and I hope this song fills you with the holiday spirit of cheer and giving. Donald Draft Jr. 
Musician/Producer, Educator 

Donald Draft Jr. is the founder of Mustard Seed Studio, a music production company based in Southern New Jersey. With his production company, Donald produces a variety of music genres, including Gospel/Inspirational, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, Classical, and Instrumental. His production style can be described as having a jazzy orchestral sound with a heavy bass neo-soul flavor and dramatic influence. 

Donald started producing music in the early 1990s. He loves to write songs that capture one’s emotions, generate hope, and inspire every listener to walk away uplifted and challenged to have faith and not give up. A highly skilled musician and production artist, Donald is proficient in using Mac-based platforms Digital Performer, Logic X, Ableton Live and Protools.

He is currently working on new and original material, writing and producing music for Hollywood actress Cynda Williams, best known for her role as Clark in the hit Spike Lee film “Mo’ Better Blues.” In addition to working with Williams, Donald has also produced music for other artists, including gospel singer Deanna Ransom. Two songs that he produced for Ransom, “Love to Love You Jesus” and “Worthy”, received radio airplay. Donald has also used his musical and production talents in working with Grammy-nominated artist Ronald Johnston. Together, they produced a song called “Keep the Faith”, which continues to get positive response. 

Donald’s music has also been used for a stage production called “Angels without Wings”, written by the late PamRea Roberson. For this production, Donald produced background tracks, and “Keep the Faith” was one of the featured songs in the play. Additionally, Donald has worked with the legendary gospel hip-hop group “Cross Movement”, earning credits on the group’s “Human Emergency” CD. He recorded with bassist Don Steven, former bass player for poet, songstress, and actress Jill Scott. 

Music is Donald’s passion. When he’s not in the studio he can be found teaching music at Beck Middle School in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He has served as a public school music teacher for the past 25 years. For the past 27 years, he’s served as a church pianist/keyboardist for several churches in the Delaware Valley.  

Donald has always aspired to compose music for film and television. He had an opportunity to score a small film called “Spiricide” written by Paul McDaniel in the early 1990s. He welcomes another chance to apply his musical and production talents to other film and television projects.

Donald earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from West Chester University in 1988 and his master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Technology from Grand Canyon University in 2013.
