„Oseary Drakoulias“ was written in early 2021, when Konstantyn Isaev
aka Rambal Cochet was living in Saint Petersburg. The track flow is inspired by the sci-fi movies of the late 70s/early 80s and “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” by Wes Andersen. The track merges classic progressive trance of the 90s and sci-fi soundtrack with nasty oldskool electro touch.

Rambal Cochet is a newborn alias of Krasnodar-based Konstantyn Isaev aka Volta Cab with releases on Aspecto Humano, Soil, Dark Leader, Les Yeux Orange and the future releases on Wrong Era, Space Lab, People And Places, Erbium and Snippets Music. As Rambal Cochet Konstantyn prefers a strange hypnotic soundings in his own productions with a taste of oldskool goa, early 90s trance, new age electronics and new wave of forward thinking music.

Acid Washed is a collective process primarily, deteriorating sounds amongst souvenirs, friends, home studios and analogue equipment. It follows the blueprint devised over the past year by DJ’s keen on using modern and vintage equipment to create sophisticated electronics with a sharp pop aesthetic.

A grooving, slow-swung think-break introduces ‘Are U Feelin’ It ?’, the opening track of Valerio Vaudano’s ‘Vibey EP’ on his Milan-based Steamy Pizza Box imprint. Nostalgic, lo-fi pads sit at the back while jazzy stabs occasionally accompany its iconic ‘Yeah, Woo’ sample at the front. Vaudano once again takes inspiration from various styles of house music for this second instalment on the label, with ‘Amnesia’ leaning into bass-bumping hard house with infectious low-end, a catchy melody and hyped-up vocal samples. ‘Oshibori’ continues with nostalgic flair, a recipe featuring conga-fueled drums and glistening harmonies broken up by the sound of birdsong. It’s a beautiful, mellow journey, before returning to the dancefloor with ‘Vhs’, where a squelchy bass and earworm melody take centre stage along a hypnotic female vocal. ‘Murder’ then closes out this stellar release by the Italian artist featuring a straight groove, deep bassline and an iconic, classic reggae sample. Steamy Pizza Box is a vinyl-only label founded by Valerio Vaudano, drawing inspiration from 90s Italo and early Chicago house, yet maintaining a modern approach. His warm, deep, and minimal sound has seen him put out tracks with labels such as Nervous Records, Say What? Recordings and King Street Sounds, while finding a home in record bags of global electronic acts like Laurent Garnier, The Blessed Madonna and Mousse T.

St Christopher, the patron saint of the traveller. The tale goes that a man used to carry people across a river. One day a child asked to be taken across. Being someone used to carrying people across the river, Christopher was not phased as he put the young boy on his back but as he crossed the river the child grew heavier and heavier.
In a similar way Zorla by Christophe starts off unassuming and deep, much like the waters of the unnamed river of the legend of St Christopher. As the track goes on it gets heavier with acid licks building and building into a heavy acid stomper. But unlike the journey of Saint Christopher, this track isnt too heavy to carry, so we guess that is where the analogy ends.
This on the 6th release from Leeds based DJ Trio Producers/Podcasters all round good eggs Clandestino Records, sees a deep groove which would suit dark rooms and big slick clubs with its hefty reverb and tight percussion which sounds more Chicago than Yorkshire. We suggest you get on this one right away.

The great city of Amsterdam is a place rich in culture and beauty and is especially true when it comes to electronic music. De Dam boasts talent on all fronts – home to huge festivals such as Dekmantel and ADE as well as the prominent record store, Rush Hour. Hidden deep in the cities veins is another treasure in the form of Bordello A Parigi, a record store come label sitting pretty in Oudezijds Kolk releasing and distributing outstanding music since 2011.

Next out the oven for Bordello is a gorgeous 3-track masterpiece from Berlin-based duo, Longhair. Marko and Bene have curated a distinctive sound for Longhair seemingly inspired by the electronic sounds of the 80s and more specifically similar synth driven influences that came from Italy in the 1990’s.

Following theme for their debut EP with Bordello is a synth-rich masterpiece with that Italo touch as mentioned earlier, all the while complimented by powerful kick drums and broad bass that cutting through at lightening velocity. Our undisputed favourite of the release goes to ‘Bunny’, blissful gem starting out with that all familiar bellowing kick before being quickly joined by a dancing synthline full of funk and life. Longhairs exceptional percussion-work perfectly ties the whole thing together to create a soundscape able to uplift and destress anyone at any time. This EP is an example of why we get excited every single time we get wind of a Bordello A Parigi release, be sure not to miss out on Longhair’s fantastic debut EP.
