In the distance there were trees, they lined the fields, acting like some soft of makeshift barrier between the grassy plains and the road which roared with traffic alongside. The drivers would pass by this place, sometimes they'd glance over but they were alway looking not seeing. That was the problem these days, people didn't pay attention or care. What lay beyond that dense wall of green was a wild world in which your imagination might run free. The great expanse of the natural world offered what the concrete could not. Did they care? The cars simply zipped on by. 

Chaotic Reality is a producer we've been keeping a close eye on, self releasing his own music he now has a few EP's under his belt. However, his latest perhaps shows a maturity and depth greater than that of his previous. This is beautiful, dubbed out, intelligent house music.

Max Winter is a London-based composer (most recently featuring on Or:la's 'MMXX Leap' compilation on her Céad label) whose electronic productions are unique in that much of them were produced for choreographed dance pieces. A student of composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Max wrote latest EP ‘Aporia' for a contemporary dance piece choreographed by Thomas Page, another Trinity alumnus. After the dance was premiered in January 2019, Max decided to condense the score into an EP, which is now seeing a release on Cherche Encore. "This was originally two separate tracks from different moments in the dance," Max Winter says of 'CCK 4', which we're premiering below. "I stitched them together and added the voice of Annika Kordes, who narrated the performance. It is probably the one track on the EP that covers all aspects of the dance." On 'CCK 4', a shimmering synth line is underpinned by a complex array of skittering breakbeats sounding akin to Squarepusher or Venetian Snares. Tune in below.

The car raced through the city beneath the glow of the street lights. They illuminated the road ahead as the evo raced towards the finish line. In pursuit was a collection of cars and bikes, they whizzed by startled pedestrians and onlookers sat perched on street corners in bars and cafes. The city was lawless after dark, chaos unfolded beneath the black of night as the racers and mischievous came out to play beneath its cloak. The engines roared as the city sprung to life. 

Duswunder is set to release a new EP on All Centre, a record label which seems to always be ahead of the curve and plotting behind the scenes. Each release is as startling as the last and the latest doesn't fail to disappoint.

Forced to pause the events in the spring, our restlessness has manifested itself in the form of a debut label release: a 21-track genre spanning compilation.

We chose to work closely with friends and family, artists that have an affiliation with AM, each expressing themselves in their freest forms from broken-techno, glitchy breakbeats and mutant dancehall, to IDM & electro.
