My name is Michael Anthony Gilbert, Jr., but in the music world I go by Don’t Chase Them. I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and later moved to Minnesota is second, where I lived until I was 13. From there, life took me to Milwaukee, where I went to Washington High School. Now at 25 years old, I’m still pushing forward every day, chasing my dreams and building a legacy through my music.

For me, music has always been more than just a passion it’s my lifeline, my therapy, and the one thing that keeps me grounded no matter what I’m going through. I don’t just listen to music; I live it, breathe it, and let it shape every part of who I am. To me, music isn’t just sound it’s a drug. It’s the high that pushes me forward, the escape that lets me create something from nothing, and the way I connect with people on a level words alone can’t reach.

I’ve always been inspired by artists who poured their souls into their music, the ones who weren’t afraid to be vulnerable and real. Legends like Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION, Lil Peep, Lil Wayne, and many more and so many more have influenced my sound and showed me that music can be raw, powerful, and life changing. They taught me that no matter what you’re going through, there’s always a way to turn pain into art and emotion into something eternal.
