Bio -

Andrey Sinitsin (sin:it:sin) started his musical journey as a drummer in a rock band. However, he has always been interested in experimenting with different genres, including electronic music. His interest in electronic music led him to dive deeper into the production realm of music creation and he began to understand how his favorite tracks were made. With this insight, he began writing music himself. He now mainly focuses on creating electro, techno, and IDM.

Poladroïd - Quantum Pilgrim [Vinyl, 12'']

Berlin producer, Random Alias, returns with a post-lockdown reflection that includes dance-floor fillers and sonic journeys in electro, techno and acid.

BOM002 explores the dichotomy of human existence that is monotonous conformity and search for freedom. This latest release from Random Alias, makes you want to move just as much as take a moment for reflection. With each track we’re presented with the iconic red pill/blue pill concept: Remain slaves to the control and automation of modern society? Or strive for freedom as we define it ourselves?

Automat opens side A with its smouldering bassline that at times becomes warped as the 5 minutes unfold. A dreamy synth line enters like a fragmented, existential thought. The kind that wakes you up in the dead of night or while you’re in the middle of a shower. The remix from iconic electro producer, DJ Overdose, takes the original to a darker place with a slower, aggressive synth. It’s a ‘Freakfest’ as Overdose defines it.

Side B starts with Nu Funk and its representation of simple efficiency. The track keeps it tight while retaining the free-spiritedness of funk. Its warm sounds take a more old school approach and are a call to retain an easier life free from fame, money and power to the single individual. While Night Drive closes the release with a rolling bass and pads that drive a progressive sound. At its core, the record takes the listener on a trip exploring sounds and styles and the timeless notion that change is the outcome of reflection.

Sync 24 - Inside The Microbeat [Cultivated Electronics - CE040]

‘Inside The Microbeat’ is the long-awaited debut album by Sync 24.

London’s Phil Bolland, known as Sync 24 has been flying the electro flag for over two decades via his popular Scand parties and beloved Cultivated Electronics label which he launched in 2007 as a direct response to the dwindling electro scene in the UK at the time.  The label has gone on to feature many of his own releases, his collaborations with the likes of Silicon Scally (Carl Finlow), DMX Krew (they collaborate as MMT-8), The Exaltics and Morphology as well as playing host to many of electro’s leading lights, eventually becoming instrumental to the scene’s resurgence in more recent years.

Now it’s time to turn the spotlight firmly on his solo work.  Across it’s eleven tracks ‘Inside The Microbeat’ is not just a collection of 12”s although tracks like the album’s name sake, ‘Oriental Sunset’, ‘Drunk on Delays’ and ‘Lightwire’ are firmly primed for the dance floor, there’s also more experimental beat-work like ‘Inspired Law’ and ‘Sluper Smashed’, or retro electronica like ‘Haunt Times’ and ‘Spatial Racing’, as Bolland drives you through his own intimately constructed landscape. 
 
The limited-edition version of the record is pressed on triple colour vinyl and comes in a gatefold sleeve, with a 12-inch original canvas print taken from a section of the artwork and hand-finished by Will Barras.  Packaged in a high-quality tote bag exclusive to the album bundle.  This package is limited to 100 copies and will only be available to purchase via the Cultivated Electronics Bandcamp.

Will Barras is an award-winning animation director based in London.  Alongside his moving image work, he has gained massive recognition as one of a new crop of artists associated with Bristol's renowned street art scene.  He was also a founding member of the famously progressive Scrawl Collection and exhibits his paintings and illustrations worldwide with his original artwork selling from £1000 - £5000.
