Macalania is one of my favourite areas of the game because the story starts to go mad here. The frozen forest of Macalania is a dangerous area to pass through before reaching the temple and praying for the Aeon, Shiva. Along the way the party is attacked by Rikku's brother. He and the other Al Bhed are trying to put an end to the tradition of the summmoner's pilgrimages to save their lives. After the fight with Brother (his name is literally just  Brother) we head to the temple and confront Seymour about his fathers murder which up until now only Yuna knew about. They try to bring Seymour to justice but he resists and the party is left with no choice but to kill him.  As Yuna's Fiance and one of the government officials that she answers to , Seymours murder causes trouble for the group going forward leading to them all being branded traitors.
