Five Petals Highlights 10.28.2017

The album is a mastered recording of the band’s performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on April 21st, 2018. The ‘Live at Red Rocks’ set contains three unreleased tracks, treating listeners to their live versions before the studio recordings are officially released. The album starts with the trio taking the stage with fan favorites “Deluxe” and “Pablito” before diving into a 3-part metamorphosis “Caterpillar” > “Chrysalis” (unreleased) > “Night Moth” (unreleased). Additional surprises in the set include a SunSquabi extended band featuring additional instrumentation from Nicholas Gerlach (Saxophone), Will Trask (percussion), Eric Luba (keys), Leah Druzinsky (vocals) and Darryl Abrahamson (Trumpet) on the tracks “Cinnamon”, “Just A Little”, and “Pygmy Up”.

SunSquabi will be releasing “Chrysalis” and “Night Moth” this summer leading up to a full EP in Fall 2018. Keep an eye out for the new music and catch them at festivals all over the country this Summer.

Doom Flamingo is a six-headed synthwave beast with a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde element to the songwriting.  Top Gun guitar riffs and Miami Beach poolside lounge-vibes, are all at once contrasted with eerie darksynth soundscapes reminiscent of old John Carpenter films.  

Doom Flamingo came together organically through friendships and past collaborations in their hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. The sextet features bassist Ryan Stasik, of the prolific rock band Umphrey’s McGee alongside a cast of powerhouse musicians.  Dynamic vocalist, Kanika Moore, sets the project into hyperdrive.
