I came across a rap verse by Rakim in a 1991 tune called Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em which started off with "Dance floor's dangerous" and included phrases like "Beware of overdose, Too many milligram, NO ONE made a iller jam" then:

"He'll rest in peace wit' 'em. At least when he left he'll know what hit 'em. The last breath of the words of death was the rhythm."

And to my luck it had the acapella, so I thought I'd start a remix for BOTDF.

The first idea that came to my head was this sax break from Tom Scott's 1967 jazz-folk tune Today, as sampled in Pete Rock's T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You) - one of my favourite hip-hop tracks by one of my favourite producers. So I built upon the original break using my own instrumentation and whatnot.

Anyway, I hope some will like it and a big shout out to Ayanthi (EssenceOfMagic) for the nifty cover.
