When Life Gets You Down

With creeping synths and hyper-conscious lyricism Dos Floris distils moments of life into sound waves.  In the wake of an emotionally charged separation, “Somebody Else” tackles the struggle to recenter oneself in a compassionate mindset after being deeply wounded by a partner acting out of their wounds. Instead of continuing the pattern of grasping at a futile relationship, the song expresses a will to forgive and move on.

I wrote this track after watching a documentary on how Arthur Eddington proved Einstein's general theory of relativity when he watched starlight being bent by the sun during a total eclipse in 1919. It struck me that this event changed how we see & understand the world. I had long wanted to experiement with an orchestra and vocal loops and the mantra "Starlight is bent by the sun" gave me the inspiration I needed.
