Mae Karthauser's brand new album, August, is a collection of songs that were each written in one day, all within one month: August 2021. The songs were arranged for the trio of piano, flute and cello with three vocals, allowing for imagination and innovation to flourish. In the spirit of 1960s Laurel Canyon, these 14 songs were recorded in just 2 days as live performances at the Sorting Room Studio in Dartington, home turf for the musicians and a return to Mae's place of musical study. Simplicity and authenticity are prioritised over technical "perfection" to capture the vibrancy of these adventurous songs as they emerge from the ether and into the material world. The result is a raw, real, and relatable energy that carries the listener on a journey through many magical worlds.

Led by wild and captivating front-man Fred Farrell, “Saytr Play have a burgeoning reputation for delivering a live show that’ll leave your jaw on the floor, ears begging for more” (This Feeling, Gigslutz). Over the past few years the band have sold-out several headline shows at some of Manchester’s most iconic music venues as well as appearing at YNot?, Kendal Calling, 110 Above and Great Escape Festival. 

Receiving playlisting from Radio X, Spotify (New Music Friday UK, Hot New Bands, Indie List) Amazing Radio and BBC introducing, the band have racked up over a million streams on Spotify & a dedicated fanbase. 

Following their hiatus, Saytr Play came back this January with singles, 'like a Ghost', 'Crowded Room' and 'Serotonin Serenade' amassing over 80k streams on Spotify, BBC Introducing support, playlisting on XS Manchester and national radio coverage on Radio X. Off the back of this success, Saytr Play sold out their hometown headline show at Manchester's Deaf Institute a month in advance. Saytr play release 'The Butterfly Stitches EP' on 23rd June.

At long last, we have finally uploaded our sixth and most recent jam session. This is the most dynamically diverse and highest quality of our spontaneous albums thus far. Ranging from distorted electric guitars alongside synths and pounding drums, to hypnotic ambient washes with pulsating brushed drums atop synth pads, to stripped-down, raw acoustic tracks consisting merely of two guitars, this session consists of both improvised jams and re-attempts at a few tracks that we previously devised during past sessions.

Recorded live at home in a converted garage by Jonathan Carey (guitar) and Evan Witkowski (drums, keys, drum machine, percussion).
