Joy Orbison’s Flight FM has quickly become one of the most iconic electronic tracks of the past year. A tune that feels underground at its core, yet resonates far beyond. Since the original leans into UK Garage, I wanted to create a Drum and Bass version tailored for my sets, pushing its energy into a faster, heavier direction.

This remix was born out of pure curiosity: what would happen if Flight FM took off at DnB speed? The result is something I’m truly proud of, a powerful DJ tool built to shake the dancefloor, keeping the essence of the original while giving it a new form that hits harder and drives the crowd into madness.

Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, five years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition. Hailing from Lower Austria, Dossa is on a quest to challenge musical conventions. Growing up as a multi-instrumentalist with a background in Sound Design, he stands out as one of the most eclectically influenced producers in the circuit.

As part of the Drum & Bass duo Dossa & Locuzzed, he pioneered a funk-infused niche within the genre, showcasing his affinity for combining funk, jazz, and soul influences with modern bass music and bringing complex musicality to the dancefloor. Now solo, Dossa is pushing the genre’s boundaries even further. His signature sound is both electronic and organic, creating a heavy blend of nostalgia and innovation. This has become a hallmark of his cutting-edge productions. 

Beyond his studio work, Dossa has carved out a reputation for exceptional DJ skills that transcend genre boundaries. Infused with his bootlegs and original productions, his sets take the audience on a journey—one that encourages reflection, embraces life’s moments, and reminds us to step back, feel, connect, and discover.
