Born and raised in Minneapolis MN; Finesse Banks the ultimate artist of many traits was always destined to shine. At a very young age of 6 she developed a love and passion for music. Singing tunes every day and always smiling putting on a show. Growing up wasn’t always easy being raised by her single father in the Twin Cities; she learned very quickly what it meant to really go for everything that you want in life. When she turned 13 she began experimenting with writing short stories, poems, and raps. Her father saw the potential and put her into a recording studio and she came out with her first track "Never Give Up". As the years passed, her passion started to fade and her life was constantly changing. Opportunities continued to knock on her door, while singing in the church choir and participating in local talent shows, one day she decided to re-open her life of music, this time with maturity.
In 2007, she pronounced herself to the MN underground hip-hop scene as "Poetic Flow" aka Mrs. Minneap; a poet and rapper. With her catchy tag "KnowDat" and crowd grabbing performances, she quickly began gaining fans, shows and tours. Finesse felt on the rise to something really big. By 2010 it all fell upon her that she had to slow down. In search for her focus and humility as an artist she began to see things more as an entertainer standpoint. 2012 she came back full force independently with spoken word, rap, neo soul, rhythm and blues and the list goes on. Building a brand and empire is her new outlook for her career. 2013 This small girl, from a small city with a Big voice has found her mark, and is now taking leaps of faith into new directions of entertaining. she is currently acting in an Invisionit Production’s play called "Femme Fatale/ the final curtain call"; the very first leading role of Militant Girl, A role she found very defiant to who she is as a woman, and her passion for her people, Banks received “Best Performance” and “Exemplifying Extraordinary Leadership” both which describes her dedication to every creative task she withholds. She continues to perform and network within her talented town of Minneapolis and surrounding states. Finesse Banks is the new sound of R and B, a great force of nature that is full of ambition and is ready for the world!
