Blorpcast013: Travelling Beyond Pluto To Find A New Home

"Once you've been out there, you can never return." - lamented the guy, watching out the window, still high from yesterday's galactic rave. "Even at home, you're still out there. On a transfer station. Waiting for the next ship." A large flock of spacegulls flown by, and with the setting of the Sombrero Galaxy, the whole thing looked pretty amazing. But then, something weird happened.

This one is for the dreamers - first up is ‘AA’ from newcomer T. Margos; it's your ultimate chance to cop that secret banger that's been blowing up dance-floors from London to Budapest this year. It's a tricky one - taking your mind into the stars with deep spacey pads, but yet working your body with the raw 303 bass and painfully heavy 909 treatment. Next on the A-side, Swiss wunderkind Douala's turn to fuel that spaceship of your dreams. ‘It’s All in Your Mind’ soothes your soul with dubby space echos, tear jerking chord progressions and a dreamy acid bassline.

As we slip into the lucid state of the dream, over on the B-side Ray Kandinski’s ‘Dirty Sneakers’ pieces together the kind dimension shifting dream-state that Disneyland could barely imagine. When those vocals and pads kick in, combined with the tricky beats everything becomes a wash of surrealism and logic – and it all happens just in time for you to awake into yet another dream, this time deep within your sub-conscious on ‘Walk Through’ by the mysterious DJ Lucy with Mike L. A nostalgic trip to your most beautiful memories, with uplifting flutes and Juno chords.

It's All In Your Mind [Blorp]

Blorp - Dream Music from Outer Space.

It's an infinite universe of extremities. At times it looks peaceful. You’ll find beauty that is impossible to perceive. But then it turns dark and scary and you feel isolated. You never know what happens next.

After a 3-year long series of Blorpcast mixtapes from artists like Route8, Luv Jam, Life Recorder and Dynamodyse, Blorp comes out with it's first vinyl release with Lobster Distribution’s support.

The V/A EP features three tracks by previously unnoticed stellar talents and one by label owner Gnork himself. The aim is to capture the mystical awe of space, with its infinite beauty and unsettling weirdness.

Side A blasts out with a track by a shining new talent from Manchester called No Moon. Aoe Cutz with its heavy bass, pumping raw analogue rhythms could set any dancefloor on fire from Alpha Centauri to CL J1449+0856. This is followed by Lose Control, from Budapest based Gnork, with floating pads, washed out breaks and a totally weird space vox which could be a folk song from Kepler-186f.

The journey continues with Swiss born Douala's track, Untitled I. Its golden chords and cuddling bassline make you feel like everything’s just perfect - you are approaching a place that feels warm and familiar. Then comes S. Channel from Paris - now it’s his turn to bring the journey to its final destination with Polar Express Pigeon. Hearing these weird analogue space grooves you start realizing that you’ve arrived to a different place than expected. It’s an unknown world, which cannot really be understood. And you are left there with all your doubts.
