Meet Nick. A keen music enthusiast from an early age, by the time he was 18 his run of the mill car already contained a full Pioneer sound system, even though he had no idea he was soon to enter into a world where the brand would be looked upon as ‘Market Leading’. 
A few months later he was introduced to Virtual DJ, a pc dj software, and by having it externally wired to his first dj mixer, a pioneer Djm300 (and later a stageline cdmp3000 cd deck to act as a ‘multideck’ controller) to give him full control of the blending side of things, he rode the waves of life for a few years enjoying the learning curve he was on and soaking up more and more about how to ‘mix’ two tracks.
Early 2012 saw the birth of Double Drop Uk, when he received his first few bookings in his local area, including the prestigious Modified Nationals 2012, where he played his second ever live set to a crowd he describes as ‘overwhelming’. His talent was quickly noticed as he started placing, and winning dj competitions in various places around the Uk. During this time he also held a few events in his local nightclub, one of which was the reason he picked up a pair of Technics SL1210’s at the time he did.
The next step was an official dj demo. Titled ‘Drum and Reverse Bass™’ (represented by its hashtag #ÐnЯß™) this mix cd was recorded live on 3 cdj 2000’s, and with full artwork, was handed out to friends, promoters and ravers alike starting 1st January 2013. #ÐnЯß™ was in short is a 50/50 blend of his favourite DnB and Uk hardcore tracks played at the same time using multiple decks. In his words “When the 2 genres meet in the mix, it creates it’s own sound, an energy that neither genre has on it’s own, and as a Dj that’s what I want to bring to the table. I love it!” 
As time passed, more mixes appeared. ‘Vinyl vs Cd DnB’ and ‘Triple Cheese  showcased his versatility and ‘Jump Up Tearout’ was a perfect example of what he can do when in his comfort zone. He also played plenty of live set’s and radio shows. ‘November Noise’ was a good example of the complexity of #ÐnЯß™. He even added a couple of ‘work in progress’ track clips, however when it comes to production, he feels “If I spent the time needed learning to produce top quality music, I wouldn’t be able to explore djing like I am, and I have too much left to learn about. I’m a Dj. It’s what I was born to do.’
2014 saw him learning the most technical skills he has ever tried using a set of 4 decks, picking holes in his theory on #ÐnЯß™ and finding solutions to any problems he came across, and generally just practicing hard developing a completely ‘off the cuff’ style of mixing. Taking modern recording and streaming technologies into account, his goal is to create a dj set that is as pleasing visually as it is to the ear and many of the skills/ abilities he has developed still remain unseen. His USB filing system for example, developed so that he can find ANY track in his collection in approximately 10 seconds on most new range cd decks, isn’t the kind of thing you’d expect to be noticed, unlike his ability to use multiple decks competently without using any headphones. 
Undeterred by the fact that the majority of hardcore promoters he has taken cd’s too, or sent online demo’s too, don’t respond, he continues to work hard on his sound. It can feel like “climbing a never ending brick wall’ however he is confident that what he does is something worth seeing, and believes that confidence is nothing without determination.
