Here is the recording of my closing set at my favorite basement in Antwerp, Club Vaag, playing the last 2 hours after a stellar set by Ramon Tapia. Was a delight to play for such a full club, even during those last hours, and getting those last bits of energy from you <3 

Normally a B2B was planned with my musical brother Jonathan Nox was ill :( hope we can make it up to you soon !

EDGE took over HÖR on Wednesday, June 19th, for Pride Month, and we threw down a showcase we're super proud of.

On the 6th of june, the lovely guys at Phase Four invited me to play a set on UrgentFM Ghent.

For the occasion, I did a back2back with long time friend Sam aka Daesical. Sam started playing at a very young age, since we both lived in the same village I instantly started supporting him in his journey in music. A lovely moment we shared in the studio - hope you enjoy the set as much as we did !

Filtrum Series 018: SKLASI

@sklasi, a rising DJ from Utrecht and part of the Oefenmeesters collective, loves a range of electronic music styles. But, his love for techno as a DJ is clear, where his mixes showcase a diverse range: from dubby, deep techno with a laid-back BPM to 90’s stripped-down techno and melodic, high-energy grooves. In this mix, Sklasi focuses on blending new-school ‘groovy’ techno with the heavy influence of 90’s sounds, creating a smooth fusion of styles that work beautifully together.

This mix in particular is high in melody, often supported by a deep, relentless kick. It’s the melody in these chosen tracks that Sklasi attracts the most, giving the mix a sense of mystery, intensity, darkness, and emotion. This melodic essence is prominent in the first part of the set, while the latter half shifts towards a more rugged 90’s techno vibe. The transition from a melodious, groovy start to a raw, stripped-down conclusion makes for a dynamic and engaging listening experience.

Attention to detail is key for Sklasi, particularly in the introduction and conclusion of his sets. For podcasts and online mixes, he emphasizes the importance of a strong opening and closing, believing it completes the mix as a story. In this mix, he crafted a 5-minute intro to set a distinctly dark, somewhat unsettling tone, sparking the listener’s curiosity for what’s to come.

Sklasi's commitment to a great opener is also evident in his “Set the Mood” series on the Oefenmeesters platform. Each week, he invites DJs with different styles to present their take on the perfect opening set, highlighting his belief in the crucial role of a memorable introduction.
