"Sierva del Tiempo" (Servant of Time) is an immersive descent into the liminal space between darkness and the sublime. A slow-burning odyssey where oppression wrestles with redemption, the track weaves together ambient, gothic, industrial textures, resonant metals, spectral voices, eerie noises, and electronic pulses, into a hypnotic soundscape.
Like a vast cosmic mechanism grinding under the weight of existence, the song moves with an inescapable force, pulling the listener into a realm of tormented souls bound to relentless rituals. Each passage unfolds like an initiation, whispering cryptic promises of transformation. The journey follows treacherous paths, where time’s fragility collides with the unyielding weight of matter, evoking the yearning of an eternal spirit wrapped in the fleeting veil of mortality.
Yet, as the darkness swells and dissonance reaches its peak, a luminous force shatters through—an angelic revelation that turns oppression into liberation, exposing a way of being beyond time, beyond fate.

Little is known about the band that has created this song. Most of this little information can be gleaned from the website of FMT, whom a previous SHELLF LIFE release can be attributed to. We caution that we do not know if any or all of this information is outdated: https://furicomusicteam.blogspot.com/p/shellf-life-interview.html Unfortunately, the Furico Team was not available for commentary, since they are launching quite a different kind of historic project on kitchen label.  

Some questionable facts regarding STRANGELOVE’S BRAIN’s release are related in quite a verbose and unreliable way tinged with judgemental interpretation and interspersed with pseudointellectual preconceptions here:   https://soundcloud.com/sonic-textures/shellf-life-paraphernalia-and-parerga-2025 (German original, as far as we can discern). According to that ‚account‘, the recording of STRANGELOVE’S BRAIN was found on a self-burnt disc (ha, that ancient Nero joke!) in a forgotten chest. The poem used in this recording is the only item that can be traced to an author (jo richter) who was kind enough to allow us to reprint here. Obviously, the references to the war-inflicted tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki make it of  special importance at this moment in history, not only because of current tensions, but also because those two catastrophies happened about 80 years ago in August 1945. We therefore decided to release the two versions known thus far as a vinyl single to the general public, accompanied by an image attributed to the same author as the poem.

I've been trying my hand at writing songs after several year break away from music. I'm no longer interested in creating something polished, or even finished. I just want to express, create and share. Maybe in time I'll revisit some of these ideas, but for now they stand a little more than a diary entry, and a way to overcome the way I feel about my voice.

We inhabit a space somewhere on the outskirts of avant-jazz and punk rock, Dogs h8 Rats are genre defying, and full of surprises. The music is born of improvisational performances so with a little luck you'll catch the "mistakes and imperfections" now and then, or as Miles Davis once said "Don't fear mistakes, there are none" and that ethos is in clear evidence within the music of Dh8R's. The core of Dh8R's is made up of Douglas Wilkerson and Michael Grimes who collaborate with friends old and new."
