Julius Steinhoff and Just von Ahlefeld are Smallpeople - a dj and producing duo from Hamburg, Germany that do more than just DJ and produce. They also run the record store Smallville in their hometown and take care of a record company of the same name, releasing house music full of references to the genres rich history. For Carhartt Radio they have put together a show featuring tracks by artists such as Move D, Lowtec, STL, Lawrence, Moomin, and Steve Tang. A thrilling mix that represents the labels trademark ageless house that admires subtle, evolving melodies.

We spoke to Smallpeople, the dynamic production duo behind Smallville Records and record store based in Hamburg, Germany. Dionne aka Just von Ahlefeld and Julius Steinhoff established the store in 2005 with the help of fellow musician and friend Peter Kersten aka Lawrence, and have since developed their own brand of deep house, drawing form their admiration for subtle, evolving melodies. Having released records from Christopher Rau, Move D, Moomin, STL, Lawrence, Steven Tang and Benjamin Brunn, Smallville Records have attracted a loyal following of heads, turning, what started as and still is a neighbourhood hangout into one of house music’s most prominent imprints. In the interview we discover more about their beginnings into producing music, running the store and their plans for 2014.

We don't know much about Peeping Tom except the fact he had a track on the free download digital compilation "A Bitterness Of Soul" Pinkman released last december to thanx the people for the support over the first two years of label existence. Now it's his proper vinyl debut four tracker on Pinkman. Blistering techno and dramatic electro injected jams from this unknown Rotterdam based voyeur. Comes with an insert with pictures taken on the streets by the peeper himself. Out next week lads !

From the beach metropolis of Sydney, I’m happy to release my first EP with Nerang Recordings.

Kutti beach is a tribute to a place where the beasts run free, unchained. 

Digital river is the title track to the release and feel it’s a journey that touches on a bit of techno, acid and breakbeat, all of which are my main influences. I wrote this in parts over the summer in Sydney.
