Before the Big Bang, there was no space, no time, and no matter. In a sense, it was nothing, but in another, it was a singularity, a point of infinite density and energy, where classical physics breaks down.

Then, something incomprehensible occurred. The Big Bang wasn't an explosion in space from a particular point; it was an expansion of space itself. From this singularity, the universe began expanding, rapidly increasing in size and cooling down. As it cooled, energy transformed into matter, and fundamental forces emerged, shaping the universe. From pure potential, the structure of reality — particles, atoms, stars, galaxies — began to form.

What “caused” the transition from nothingness to something is a mystery. Some theories point to quantum fluctuations, where even in a state of "nothing," there’s a tiny chance for particles to appear spontaneously. Others suggest that perhaps the universe is part of an eternal cycle, where one universe gives way to another, or that the laws of physics themselves arose out of pure potential.

In essence, the universe, in its earliest moments, was an explosion of possibilities. What we call "nothing" before the Big Bang might not have been the void we think of. It could have been a state of quantum potential, an unknown realm where the rules we know hadn't yet been written.

To fully comprehend this is almost beyond human imagination — it challenges everything we understand about existence itself. What was before the Big Bang? We can only speculate, because the concept of "before" loses its meaning when time itself wasn’t even born yet.
