This must be the deepest and most mysterious beat I have ever heard. I get goosebumps even after the 100th time listening.

Inside the cardamom capsule are the seeds, that give it its characteristic taste; mainly volatile oils that taste a bit like eucalyptus. When put in coffee, they create ever-changing oily textures on it’s surface. It makes the coffee more digestible and neutralizes the caffeine. It tastes a bit paradox. But eventually the taste becomes something else. A special blend that is neither the one nor the other.

ele & bīsu’s music goes back to studio sessions fueled by cardamom coffee. It’s preparation has been a steady ritual that accompanied the making of the EP. It is the random seeming details and procedures like this that form artistic processes and inspiration. Some day, they might even become an image for a type of experience greater than the individual memory.

We have done it, the well known Berlin club Ritter Butzke is starting its own record label!
First up is longtime resident Mario Aureo and his swiss brother in arms Manuel Moreno, who has found a home as resident of Zurich's legendary Hive Club.
The title track “Autumn Bell” is a sub and lead bass driven Houser, whose emotive pads and hypnotic vocals will stay in your head long after you have left the club.
The dub version of “Autumn Bell” is an altogether more reduced and focussed affair, that relies on the groove but without losing the energy of the original.
The flip side, “Arosis” is a deeper track with string variations and filter progressions but nevertheless a more restrained feel, which makes this track playable at any time, day or night.
Bachstelzen old hand and URSL co-founder Sebo is on remix duty, he’s picking up the theme in a more minimal manner and crafts a sound world of his own, through additional vocals and varied arrangement.
Now that the foundations are laid, watch out for further releases from artists out of the Ritter Butzke sphere.

Es ist geschafft - Der wohlbekannte Berliner Club Ritter Butzke startet sein hauseigenes Plattenlabel!
Den Anfang machen der langjährige Resident Mario Aureo und sein Schweizer Kollege Manuel Moreno, welcher im legendären Hive Club in Zürich sein zu Hause gefunden hat.
Der Titeltrack "Autumn Bell" ist ein durch prägnante Sub- und lange Lead-Bässe getragener House-Track, der vor Allem durch die eingängigen Vocals und seine atmosphärischen Pads, auch noch nach einer langen umtriebigen Clubnacht, im Gedächtnis bleibt.
Die Dub Version von "Autumn Bell" ist dahingehend etwas reduzierter und fokussiert sich auf den Groove, ohne dass dabei die Energie des Originals auf der Strecke bleibt.
Die B-Seite ist mit "Arosis" etwas deeper gehalten und besticht, trotz vieler String-Variationen und Filterverläufen, durch seine unaufgeregte Grundstimmung, die den Track fast zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit spielbar macht.
Dazu gesellt sich ein Remix von Bachstelzen-Urgestein und URSL-Mitbegründer Sebo, der das Thema etwas minimalistischer aufgreift und durch zusätzliche Vocals und ein sehr abwechslungsreiches Arrangement eine ganz eigene Sound-Welt, in der man sich wunderbar verlieren kann, erzeugt.
Der Grundstein ist somit gelegt und in den nächsten Monaten werden weitere spannende Veröffentlichungen von Künstlern aus dem Ritter Butzke Umfeld folgen.

PR: The latest microcastle release welcomes the unique and exceptionally talented Upercent to the label for his debut EP. Born in Valencia, this thought provoking, emotive artist has steadily developed a distinctive style that fuses organic and analog sounds with masterful creativity, perfectionism and constant innovation, making him one of the most naturally talented producers to emerge from the Spanish scene. Upercent’s uncanny ability to tell captivating stories through his music has seen him evolve and raise the creative bar with outstanding releases on Kompakt, Diynamic, Monaberry and Endless. Now making his microcastle debut with the three track artist showcase ‘Vuit’, Upercent presents some of the most eclectic productions of his career alongside a remix from Chaim.

The EP begins with its title track and first showcase piece ‘Vuit’. Built on a deep, meditative groove, the piece develops with a unique hypnotic charm. Upercent’s use of distinctive percussive elements, eastern motifs and clever dub styling, creates an instantly memorable introduction to a pure master at work. From its metronomic chiming base, with ‘Tango’ it’s the arrangement of organic designs that makes yet another undeniably original creation. In fact, it’s a supremely delicious smorgasbord of afro elements that masterfully builds towards the unveiling of a heart-melting piano in the final act, revealing the unrivalled steamy aspects of the classic South American dance to perfection.

Take a treated guitar along with a multitude of distinctive elements, add some jaw-droppingly, seductive tones, and breathe everything deeply into a stripped back arrangement laced with analog stabs, while drawing on the experimental attitude of freeform jazz and you have the third offering ‘Submissive’. But, Upercent’s masterstroke here is to collaborate and introduce the sublime vocals of Dwayzo Lawrence aka KnowKontrol, from Syracuse, NY. This multi-genre artist has a complementary, experimental attitude that channels his inimitable ability to inject an already profound track with authentic soul. A precious talent that has already seen him collaborate with some of the electronic world’s finest innovators and labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Drumcode, Rebellion and Keinemusik.

To complete this already creative package, microcastle has enlisted the remix talents of Berlin-based artist Chaim. The renowned musician, DJ, producer and Tel Aviv native has long been one of electronic music's most fascinating artists. Having previously remixed the likes of Art Department, Pete Tong and Ellen Allien, his organic, forward-thinking music has found a home on BPitch Control, Cocoon, Culprit, Disco Halal, Rumors and Turbo. As an artist bound by no genre, but tuned into expressions of liberation and joy, Chaim creates music that is truly universal and is the perfect choice to re-interpret ‘Submissive’. Chaim nails down a backbone of tough, incessant, hypnotic beats, complemented by a seductive blend of evolving, tribal percussion, while reprocessing KnowKontrol’s vocal into a mesmerizing, magical spell, that forms the perfect finale to this stunning four track audio adventure. Quality over quantity is at the heart of Atish’s musical outlook and why we here at Fiction have no qualms in helping debut one of his latest musical collaborations. Releasing on July 5th, Atish and Bengal have come together to produce an intricate and evocative track, ‘Tortoise’ that,unlike it’s namesake is not slow and plodding but rather introspective, and upbeat. From the beginning, listeners are greeted with whisperings and as the track builds, beautiful soaring pads that continue throughout. The track’s build though is where I think the magic lies, elements shifting into focus, each with a delicate melodic touch that help push this over the top. DOYEQ is a unique two-man live-project of Sergey Kulikov and Vitaliy Bragin.
