This is the song by Velma's agent in "Chicago", "Ten Percent", which was cut after the out of town tryout of the original production in Philadelphia. Wonderful period orchestration, though it's been performed with more variety in several studio recordings, including by Fred Ebb. Music by John Kander. Remastered and cleaned from a live soundboard tape. Performer unknown, with Chita Rivera in the dialogue interlude. Introduced by Mary McCarty in character.

Gary Krawford on the closing night of the original national tour of "Company" with Julie Wilson, singing "Being Alive". Remastered; dubbed from a video apparently. Krawford acts it, and is very needy, frustrated, which certainly illuminates the song in a different way. Kudos.

In May of 2012, the Metropolitan Museum of Art requested permission from PS Classics to include “Broadway Baby” in an upcoming compilation disc. Because the track on the New Broadway Cast Recording includes brief reprises of other tunes, Jayne Houdyshell kindly went back into the studio to record a new solo ending.
