The Two cousins are both Anishinaabek, Mohawk, or Onkwe Ongwe Nations. Former Native activists turned Artivist's. DMTea Hawk is Mohawk, Tuscarora, and Pacific Tongan islander. Joaquin D. Red Road is Anishinaabek/Odawa & Ojibway, Mohawk, and Pomo Nations. The first three albums: "SugarBush" Produced by HeArt Cory, and recorded in 3 days over a stormy winter weekend of 2012. "Hawk & Joaq" was recorded in 7 days during another another 2013 winter storm in the mountains of Mendocino county ca. "Native Not Amerikkkan" was recorded in the same way during another winter storm in January of 2014. NiijiiKaan only records during storms. "NiijiiKaan" is the kind of music that is exposing all the negative & Positive things in Native Culture. All the things your elders, youtube, and the books you read is trying to expose...
