this my contribution to yet another brilliant compilation entitled "limit sound field expand,"
conceived & realized by los angeles based musician & soundartist, jean-paul garnier aka loopool. 
on this project, 8 artists were called upon to produce works made entirely from field recordings 
made by loopool & provided on his website: loopool.org again, we were instructed only to use 
the sounds provided & to do with them whatever it was we saw fit in producing a piece.
so, for me, this was what i saw fit at the time. i stand by it today. the compilation
was released in march of 2013 & can be heard, in full, at the following address:

this is what i came up with with asked to take on yet another assignment from jean-paul garnier, aka loopool. he designed some synth patches based on some scales that he devised, which were derived from a different sort of tuning that he came up with using light frequencies & translating them to sound frequencies. it was a fun project &, although it was something i made upwards of three years ago, i've yet to present the piece anywhere until now. i should add that the vocals you hear--& can hopefully discern--are from an interview with dr. cornell west that tavis smiley conducted at the los angeles central library. amen.

this is the dr. auxiliary submission
for a compilation project produced by loopool.
for the length of a year, loopool did a field recording a week 
(from a wide variety of global locales). he posted these recordings online
for anyone & everyone to use as source material for songs & sound art for this comp project.
there were no restrictions or requirements other than that one must use
at least one of the recordings. i made samples & excerpts from
bunches of them & solely used loopool's sound sources.
no other outside sound sources were used
in the production of this piece of music.

somewhat befuddled, we submerge into the church of inner-urge

this is the very first musical effort I made once all this crazy corona virus biz struck--started & finished in late march. it's a strange & janky little waltz number that takes it straight to the streets (of downtown los angeles--a field recording from back in 2014, when we still lived down there), & then gets a bit funereal. is that a word...? funereal? as in "funeral-like." I'll look into that in a minute... I feel like the street sounds are especially poetic in this new & drastic shift in... everything. anyway... I'm really pleased with this little piece. I hope you can dig it too.

these are compositions made from a variety of approaches using analog synths, digital ones, samplers & various effects... reason, finale, broken down pianos, pots & pans & springs & things.... these pieces span from 2002 to the present..... more will surely be revealed....
