Brandenburg Concerto a la Wendy/Walter Carlos

The Kawai PH50 is one of the more unique sounding small cheap keyboards I encountered. According to the manual it uses the same synthesizer engine as the K1, the "poor man's Fairlight". Sound quality was cut down even more and there is not much to tweak, yet it sounds gloriously lofi.

Treated with vintage German broadcast gear (Tab V72a, Eckmiller 86, Siemens U273) and recorded at 48Khz/24BIT so it sounds hifi in all its lofi. True to the original, no round robins.

Collection of recordings on January 10th 2011 during the Georgia winter storm. Various sleds, ice breaking, ice creaking, icy tension cracks, and heavy snow crunches/impacts. All sounds recorded at 24-bit 96khz with the Neumann RSM 191 A-S M-S Stereo Shotgun Microphone System and Sound Devices 702 Digital Recorder. Two Aquarian audio H2a-XLR hydrophones used for the frozen water drainage pipe recording.
