I am from Bishop's Stortford and I know that it used to have a vibrant music scene. Many famous R&B bands played various venues, including the Rhodes Centre, in the late sixties. Various punk and new romantic bands played The Triad Arts Centre in the late seventies/early eighties, although I was only about 12-14 at the time. Sadly, apart from gigs by local bands from Hertfordshire and Essex, the music scene seems to have been dormant since the Harlow Square (which opened in the 1980's) was forced to close, as have many venues in surrounding towns, but there is the possibility that it might flourish again!
