Experimental duo based in Milan, IN/ELEKTRA is a meeting point of two worlds: well established musical experiences contaminate each other through the imagination and elaboration of inner ways. Although Silvia Cignoli and Valentina Guidugli are two musicians with totally different backgrounds, they are both attracted by a common horizon where the key word is "contamination" between post-rock, noise, drone-ambient, glitch, contemporary, experimental and improvised music. IN/ELEKTRA perform in very different situations, among which the "Spaziomusica Festival" (Cagliari, Teatro Massimo), Jazzmi Festival and Inaudito Festival (Milan) stand out.

Vugly nasce nel 2013 in un mondo parallelo e dopo anni di gestazione, è stata diverse cose prima, durante e dopo. Nell’istante in cui si esprime ci sono canzoni, un basso, una voce e diverse congegni elettroanalogici. Genere essenzialmente sperimentale, volontà fortemente indipendente.

Classical and electric guitarist, experimental musician and sound artist who ranges from classical to contemporary music, from radical improvisation to avant- rock to her own musical creation that is a crossover between her academic background and the electronic music scene. 

In her work, a refined timbre research on augmented guitar, keyboards, electronics, signal processors and sound objects builds soft atmospheres that sometimes tend to explosion with a continuous game between absence and presence.

She is graduated in classical guitar at Scuola Civica Claudio Abbado (Milan) and at Italian Swiss Conservatory (with honors).

She has released “The Wharmerall”, “Digital memories from a suspended world”, “Shimmering Behaviour” and "Allegory of Earth and Water".

Her music was performed in Italy at Mudec Museum, Smart Guitar Fest / Città Sonora, Electroclassic Fest, 5 Giornate Festival (Milan), at Operaestate Festival Veneto, Musica 3000 / Teatro Luzzati / Disorder Drama (Genova, La Tosse Theatre), Alterazioni Fest (Lainate); Spettro (Brescia); Spaziomusica (Sardinia); Inascolto (Bergamo); Tempo Reale with Roberto Zanata (Firenze); Vicoli Corti / Salotto Elettronico (Taranto); Avvistamenti (Bisceglie), Ibrida Festival with Caterina Palazzi and Salvatore Insana (Forlì), Incò_ntemporanea (Piacenza); Unarchive Fest, Elettra@ / Teatri di vetro (Rome), Il suono nell’istante Fest (Lodi), in Japan, at Goethe Institut Kyoto for Italian Culture Institut Osaka, Chilli Jazz (Austria), Interfaces (Cyprus), Intermediale (Poland) and in Switzerland at Klang Bang Festival (Basel) and many others. In 2021 Wasteland ensemble commissioned and performed a piece by her in his concert season in Los Angeles.

She also is a score composer for documentaries film and experimental short film and she is co-author of site-specific and intermedia projects.
