Former Bar25 resident, acclaimed DJ and producer and Sender Records boss Benno Blome is back with a brand new EP that features two of his originals and two fine remixes from Okain Haus and Mihai Popoviciu.
Benno Blome is a boundary pusher who always diversifies with each new release and every DJ set. He has put out great EPs like Braitbendnoodles and the opulent after-hour head-movie "Eramina" and here impresses with a deep and infectious house sound. 
Opener Abotha is a nice and steamy cut with soulful pads layered up over soft rubber beats. Little melodic hooks pull you in and vocal murmuring add a steamy sense of human emotion. 

Romanian Mihai Popoviciu has had great success either solo or with the likes of Jay Bliss and has released on labels including Fear Of Flying, Hudd Traxx, Bang Bang and Diynamic. His remix here is slightly more uptempo and slick, with simmering and shimmying chords rolling over the face of the infectious beats. 

Also remixing is Frenchman Okain, who is a Fabric and Watergate regular and who puts out music on BPitch Control, Cadenza and many others. His version of Abotha is more tech, stripped out and freewheeling, with airy hi hats and thin synth lines meandering about to really hypnotise mind, body and soul. 

Benno’s other original is LED, another syrupy, gloopy, perfectly soft and inviting, warm and romantic house groove with gentle synth stabs, smeared pads and lots of late night soul in its bones. Great vocals again act as a nice human hook and it doesn’t take much to imagine the floor going wild for this one. Once again then Benno Blome proves he is a talented producer with many great ideas and more than the skills to pull them off.

“Two Strangers” by the Brazilian producer and musician AnT (@torquato) is one of the highlights on Magnum Vol. 1 – D.O.C. Label compilation out on May 27th. AnT produces music since 1995, and started DJing in 2005. In Brazil, he’s very known in the underground scene for being part of the Nomunbah collective. His style is mainly focused on deephouse, house and techno.

Hello guys, tomorrow will be my birthday and I want to give something for free, but also make a statement. 
I had a lot of fun doing this and trying to replicate the style that’s obvious and I won’t name it, but I didn’t felt it’s original, I didn’t felt it’s mine and mine alone. I haven’t sampled or anything every element is worked and played by me, but I still felt like I don’t own this. 
The thing I dislike the most is stealing, not an idea or a concept, but to sample from something and than to sell your work. Yes, I’m talking about edits and I feel the ones that are made from tracks that are from this genre and than sold, without the consent of the artist, are the worst thing ever. This is just my point of view, I understand that a certain guy liked a certain track and decided to make an edit, but selling it afterwards like it’s just yours it’s a crap, it’s a lack of respect for the original artist and his work. 
Anyway, you have the free download on my bandcamp, if you feel like supporting my work you can, but if not it’s no problem, it’s your choice.
