We are delighted to announce the highly-anticipated relaunch of Dragonfly Records with a continuation of the next installment from the seminal Order Odonata compilation series, curated by label manager Robin Triskele.

Aptly entitled, Metamorphosis, it includes nine cutting edge tracks that pay homage to early pioneers of the Goa Trance movement. At the same time, it also celebrates the evolution of the psychedelic scene and its perpetual motion into the current time with featured new talents who are driving it forth on dance floors across the globe.

A no-holds barred psychedelic journey is on the agenda. It will take you from the sounds of Melodic Goa Trance with Tsuyoshi Suzuki and Etnica, Innerzone and Total Eclipse, to blasting Full On dance floor dynamics with Youth, Nervasystem, Hautacam and Mirson, before Bumbling Loons and Robert Elster (aka Vibrasphere) leave us on a beautiful high with their deep, chunky hypnotic Trance grooves.

It all started on a Thursday in 1994…

I was at the the Clichy Paris (the acid rendez-vous). The event was taking place each Thursdays and it was organized by Fabrice Rackham; one of the pioneers of rave party (Gaia concept) in France.

It was a little bit before the trance Goa vibe was discovered in France… The style was Trancecore minimalist in the late 1994 and early 1995, then the Goa trance builded some momentum in the tray (vinyl) (techno-import).

At this time of my life, it was obvious for me (an enlightenment) to make people dance and to make them returned to trance! That's how my DJ experience (MOOG) started (not always easy at the beginning: hours and the hours of training)

At the end of 1995 beginning 1996, with some close friends of mine, we decided to organize a Goa trance party named “Universal party” and another one called “Psychedelic Concept” in 1998.

And then, I took a break for 2 years without mixing in 2000. I had to think a little about the direction I was heading to…

A new project came to me: I went to Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao (Thailand) where I had the great opportunity to mix in several full moon parties!

Since then, I continue from time to time mixed in small friendly parties in Haute-Savoie France and Thailand also...

Amaluna is the cosmic collaboration of New Zealand-born Tara aka FlibbertiGibbet and Zimbabwean-born Wendy aka Małpka who first connected on the electric dance floors of London’s vibrant psytrance scene. 

Shattered Barriers promoter Abhi Trance first booked them to play a back-to-back set at his event in April 2017 and they enjoyed it so much they decided to do it again in September for top London night Tribal Village at the Steelyard, where they played a high energy closing set in the second room. This confirmed that they were definitely on to something good, and so Amaluna was officially launched at Astral Circus at London’s Electrowerkz in November 2017, where they closed the alternative room after one of their favourite producers Ben Coda.

2018 saw them make their main room debut at Tribal Village, warm up the Sunshine Deck at the Psymera Boat Party and play an epic three sets at Noisily Festival, where they warmed up for Saturday’s Zenon takeover on the Liquid Stage and managed to blag a second set between Breger and Evil Oil Man after the third DJ didn’t turn up – sharing the stage with their all-time musical idols Grouch and Sensient in the process. They capped the day off with a downtempo set at the Bassport FM stage, where they played a few of their favourite bass tracks.

A multi-genre duo with an interest in the experimental evolution of music, they love breaking musical boundaries with eclectic tracks to drive the dance floor to new levels. The diversity of their combined tastes unites psychedelic bass lines, glitchy melodies and quirky compositions to create something truly unique.

Thanks to their passion for seeking out and sharing new sounds, they transmit a powerful energy from the decks to the dance floor. Signed to Free-Spirit Records, after releasing their ‘Lunar Phase’ compilation and playing at some of their favourite parties & festivals such as Astral Circus, Tribal Village, World Lounge Project, the Psymera Boat Party, Planet Shroom, Psy-Sisters, Noisily, Indigenous and Anthropos Festivals, they’re still buzzing from playing at the awe-inspiring Tribe of Frog stage at Boomtown Fair this summer alongside some of their favourite DJs and producers.

Odyssee Berlin marks Amaluna’s European debut and they’re putting together an extra-special set that showcases their eclectic sounds to welcome in the New Year!

After a 15 years hibernation since the last release, finally the much anticipated re-launch has arrived and with it comes an exciting new installment of the seminal Order Odonata compilation series.  Next up is a full artist album from label head YOUTH, coming spring 2020.

Dragonfly Records was founded by Martin 'Youth' Glover in 1993 and was based at his Butterfly Studios in Brixton, London and was a seminal label in the Electronic trance music lineage and arguably the first UK / European Goa Trance label.

In early days pretty much all the main trance producers were working out of Butterly/Dragonfly. TIP, Flying Rhino, Total Eclipse and Hallucinogen, (Simon Posford and Ott were part of Butterfly’s in house engineer/production team). Early releases also included Goa produced music like Mandragora and Space Tribe. 

At the same time Butterfly was hosting The Orb, Laurent Garnier and The Drum club and many other artists were rubbing shoulders with our own artists, producers and engineers, as well as putting on multi-media parties and events.

Art exhibitions with Jimmy Cauty (KLF), theatrical productions, talks in the garden with such psychedelic luminaries as Terrance McKenna, Fraser Clarke, Brian Barritt and Lee Harris as well as some legendary huge outdoor raves, all of which combined to create an Arts Lab and a creative utopian hub unlike anything London has seen since the early days of Punk or even the late 60’s Summer Of Love.   

Today all of this legacy has magically alchemised into “Space Mountain” the state of the art studio built by Youth in Andalusia, Spain at the end of the 90’s and which now hosts The Space Mountain International Cosmic Arts Lab festival.
