Bassie (Gregory Jackson) has rocked clubs, concert halls, and sold-out stadiums as touring bassist for multi-Grammy winning reggae legend, Burning Spear (a.k.a. Winston Rodney).  He’s also written for everyone from Amy Winehouse (platinum album Frank? Yeah, his name’s on that) and Leela James to Simply Red and Snoop Dogg. And Source magazine nominated him for “Best Remix” for his work with Dead Prez featuring Jay-Z.

Bassie, hailing from Yorktown Heights, New York, owes his “bassic” prowess to the classical bass violin lessons he had as a wee one with Dr. Arthur Davis. After an childhood and adolescence of playing with national and international symphonies, Bassie studied went to university. And because he liked it so much, he went back for more university when he was done with the first one. Then he got what many parents and grandparents call a “real job.”

But…

“The best thing I’d ever done for my career was making a list of things I would do if money weren’t a factor. Then I did them. It was scary to give up a ‘real job’ that paid the bills, but it’s also scary to not follow your dreams. I followed my dreams and I couldn’t have made a better decision.”


PHIL IS AN ENGLISH INDEPENDENT MUSIC PRODUCER, RE MIXER, LYRICIST AND COMPOSER 

 (16/12/1974) Phillip Clancy aka Reggae Phil was born. 
I grew up in Manchester England

Since my childhood I have been passionate in all aspects of prouducing music. 
I studied at the SSR Manchester (The School of Sound Recording) which began its life as `Spirit Studios` in 1980.
The Smiths and other bands have passed through the doors of this world acclaimed school including: Happy Mondays, Simply Red, 808 State, New Order and many more.

I was inspired at a young age by composers such as Jamaican born singer, songwriter John Holt, singer, songwriter, musician and guitarist Robert Nesta `Bob` Marley and the British Reggae/Pop band formed in 1978 in Birmingham England that is UB40.
Subsequently I have now been producing music in various genre and write my own poetic lyrics for 11 years.

Reggae Phil will be happy to perform at both private and public events, produce music and write lyrics for all in the entertainment industry. He aspires to be successful as both an Artist and Producer.. JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW.. THAT I AM UNSIGNED ARTIST,I AM NOT SIGNED TO ANY LABEL..DOING WHAT I DO PRODUCING MUSIC +SING TOO.
