drag him down-by each cold-scarecrow limb-she’s a deadly undertow

This lithe woman whom-his stare-sought to capture-in that single glance

but lightening needs-no call     to strike home   only a single chance

at the sleeping  foot-high above angry seas-beyond  a dolphin’s dance

At capsized  cobbled streets-falls as steep-as Robin Hood’s Bay
he made a trace-of the jigsaw coast-from fishing village-to ferry boat 

his hands hold fast-the rusted rail -in driven rain-a memory map way
of the ferry’s wake-as it slow-ly vanishes-from this-fog-foxed day    



Today he steps manly on her island [spoken]

She’s been gone years - the man spits -lighthouse is not for a girl to be

His head shakes- as he draws a darkening door  back to the swirling sea.

Seven years was always seven too long [echoed]
