Tinsel Town is surely the best known of The Blue Nile songs. 

When Liverpool-based Johnny Sands was recording for his 'Vandal in Berlin' band about 10 years ago, he took time to  record his cover of this song (for my birthday) as he is not only a fan but knew it is one of my favourite songs of all time.

I saw him perform it live many times, most notably on the same bill as Magnet who was stood alongside me and sang his praises. While I know it's a sacred cow to some - I love that he recorded this for me. Nothing beats the voice of Paul Buchanan and the bass of Robert Bell and synths of PJ Moore together but...  when a son's sings his heart out for me... Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.
